Concerned about the one time use limitation on the kiddie ladder. Would like to be able to practice with it so everyone knows how to use theirs.
Excellent point about practicing!
One time use in a fire situation. Call Kidde and verify but I believe you can practice with it. It just may not fold back as compact.
Read the comments and questions on Amazon, they said the one time use is for fire situations, per manufacturer. The said a fire may risk the integrity of the product after using in a fire situation so the don’t recommend using more then once in a fire situation, but for practice it is fine. It won’t fold back up easily once used however, and reviews said it will scuff your paint and drywall when you use it so be prepared for that.
I called kiddie and was told you cannot use it more than once. I specifically asked if it was just an issue with folding and storage, (that it would be bulkier to store after using) she said that wasn’t the issue. She said that once it’s used, even just to practice, you cannot use it again. She insisted that once you pull the release strap to open it, that you could not store it in such a way that it would ever lay flat enough to be used a second time. I asked how we were supposed to teach our kids the proper way to use it and she said they suggest purchasing an addition one to use for a one time practice.
Thank you, I grabbed the first alert one
