Does anyone have one of these? can you just put your phone with phone cover/”pop socket” on the charge or do you have to take phone cover off every time you want to charge it?

It depends on your pop socket placement. Mine is low to the bottom of my phone and I have to extend it and let it hang over the edge. If it was in the middle of the back of your phone, the wireless charger wouldn’t work.
We also use this charger for our iPhones as well.

Yes this charger works well with otterbox cases. I have used them with the defender and the commander otterbox cases with no issues.
