I’m confused… so do you pay for the bucket and then pay for popcorn each time? Or you are only paying for the popcorn on second rounds?
We did it for 2018. Pay for the bucket with the poppy once and then bring it with you anytime you go to the movies and only pay $5 to fill it up. At our movie theater they give free seconds if you paid the $5 already during the movie. We love this deal!

It depends on how often you go to the movies. The popcorn here is almost $10 for a large, about the same as the bucket. So if you go only once a month that’s $120 a year for popcorn. If you used the bucket deal the same amount would only cost $75. So you can see it a much better deal and most people that would buy this probably go at least 2x a month so that would cost $240 compared to $135.
Note this is AMC Classic theaters only. There are none in NJ
My mom does this deal – she goes to the movies at least once, sometimes twice a week. Totally worth it if you are a regular at the movies! It comes with a lid as well – so you can take/save your extras and not worry about spilling in the car on the ride home or it going stale. Definitely going to use this as an add-on for her Christmas this year. Thanks H2S!

We always had to pay extra for the lid..like $2 maybe. Seems worth it though if you get a refill and have extra to store, although I really think they should just give you the lid for free. Plus, we try to repurpose the buckets with storing toys etc. in them.

If you’re a Stubs premier member, you get a free size upgrade, so i think this ends up being a wash since a small popcorn is about $5. I did this last year and i don’t think i’d do it again now that i know that!

Stubs did a Black Friday sale. Think it was $10. Or I usually wait til they over $5 for renewing (January )

I think it’s a rip-off that you can mainly buy popcorn buckets at the classic theaters only. They are very far from where I live. We average 1 to 2 movies per week.
