I’m gonna just keep stuffing it in my bag🤣

  2. Holly Conner

We’ve been doing this for the last few years and its great. We go to the movies alot (both of us are AMC A-list members), most weeks we both go 1-2 times. So it’s a great deal. And don’t forget- you get 1 free refill each visit too!

    • Lesli

So you get your first refill free each visit and then pay $4.99 for each additional refill on that visit?

      • Huntbug

No you pay 4.99 each visit

        • Gramma C

I’m pretty sure she means every time you go you pay for 99 but then you get a free refill after that each time

          • Gramma C

That was supposed to say 4.99 not .99

      • Holly Conner

You pay the $4.99 first, then get a free refill during the same visit.

        • Lesli

Thank you all! That makes sense. Seems like a good deal. 🙂

    • julie

I love the AMC popcorn bucket! This is our third year in a row! We also found out you can get a free refill (so far only my husband has been successful with it, but we’ve only needed it when he’s there 😂)!

      • Alan Goodroe

Well remember you can also get the refill on your way out to take home.

    • Randall

Miss Holly, can I pay you to buy one for me and send it? They no longer do it at the AMC where I live but they said if I get one they have to honor it. There isn’t a classic anywhere near me. I’d be willing to cash app you the money for the bucket and shipping charges. I’m serious.

  3. Bryant

This isn’t nationwide, correct? When I lived down south all the theaters did this, but once I moved back north zilch!

    • Stacy R

      Its for all AMC theatres

      • tracey

To buy the buckets anyhow, it has to be a participating theater. Not sure if once you have the bucket you can just go to any amc.

    • eemommy

      nothing in NY state 🙁

      • Michael G Sanfilippo

My theater in Rochester New York sells them but they don’t show up in the app.

  4. Susan

No participating theaters in all of Nevada 🙁

    • Lilly

      😢

  5. Able Wazniak

No participating theaters in Louisiana either. 🙁

  6. kelsee66

I have a 6 year old and 1 year old and so we aren’t often able to go to the movies. We buy a bucket, go fill it up throughout the year and take it home to have our own movie nights! Just makes it feel a little more special 🙂

    • Gramma C

      That’s what we do!!

  7. pjane

Is it an actual bucket? I would assume you get a fresh bucket?

    • Lo

It’s a bucket. You clean and bring back.
I’m not really concerned but I really do wonder how this passes health codes. I’m pretty sure my cinemark uses your bucket as the scoop possibly contaminating all the popcorn. 🤔

      • Randall

Where I live they don’t fill your bucket up. You show it and they bring your popcorn in there cardboard buckets.

    • J

It’s a plastic reusable bucket. When you get home you must wash it with soap & water. They reserve the right to refuse to use it if it’s filthy. Also, I was told by a manager at a regular AMC that although buckets are only available for purchase at their Classic Theaters, you can use it was the regular AMC as well through that specific year.

  8. Cindy

We are amc stubs member and pay $21 per month and can see 3 movies a week. We have 2 buckets. For about $11 a visit we get 2 buckets of popcorn and one large drink. Then we get rewards on top of that. This is the way to go if you enjoy going to movies.

    • Cindy

Oh and we are able to use in IL and Florida where we go between.

    • Michael G Sanfilippo

If you are a stubs member you can fill the first bucket for the 4.99, Dump it into the trays and get a free refill in it right away.

  9. Mitch

I checked the website. Seems it’s all the theaters listed on Alabama except the one I go to. 🙁 I wonder if they will participate also but have to buy in theater… 🤷🏼‍♂️

  10. DebJ

So, the employees are touching used containers that people are bringing back from home for free refills and then touching other new products and then serving other people? That has to be a health code violation.

  11. todd

To all the people complaining about how unsanitary it is or how it passes health codes. You do realize there are germs EVERYWHERE, right? Theres probably about a hundred thousand germs on the phone you’re reading this on. If you’re that concerned, you can always get in your plastic bubble and go see a movie at the AMC.

    • dylanfan

They are just pointing out the facts and that is why there are health codes, which are reportable to the health department.

    • Gramma C

Well you are correct you didn’t have to sound so snippy about it.

  12. Tasha

The employees have to touch all that cash too and then serve foods and handle products. Cash is gross. They have been doing it with loyalty cups for years too. Bring your loyalty cup back for a discount refill. Employees are told not to let ice or popcorn scoops to touch used containers.

    • Brenda

But someone mentioned that their AMC uses the buckets as a scoop into the popcorn. That us especially the problem, though depending on how they handle it could be, as well.
A local theater chain here has a popcorn perk program. They use bags, which have a free refill on certain sizes. We bring the bag back on our next visit for the refill. They scoop popcorn and drop it into the bag outside of the popcorn bin. The scoop doesn’t ever touch the bag. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be buying popcorn.

      • Michael G Sanfilippo

They don’t use the bucket to scoop it.

  13. Christine Confer

How can I buy the new 2020 refillable popcorn bucket

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Christine! Be sure to head to your participating theater to grab it!

  14. Movie Goer

It is a health code violation at my AMC in Canton, Georgia. You have to bring your bucket to the concession counter for proof and they give you a large bag filled with popcorn. You can refill the bag one time on the same visit. When hubby goes with me, we pour bag into bucket and get refill before heading into see our movie. Works great!

  15. Alan Goodroe

If you have more than bucket you can just pay 4.99 to refill 1 of them then walk back and refill the other one for free. It’s a good idea to have 2 buckets if your group is 3 or more people. Only pay once to have 2 full buckets. And if for some reason you dont get tour free refill during the movie. Always get it on the way out.
