That is a great and smart idea on their part. When i was doing whole30, chipotle was the only fast food place i ate for a few no time for meal prep day.

  2. Wende

It would be nice if they also offered a vegan version.

    • Maggie

Wende, they already do offer a vegan bowl! It’s the Sofritas (made from soy) — their beans, rice, tortillas, and fajita veggies have also been vegan for YEARS. The Sofritas are even prepared separately from the meat to avoid cross-contamination, and the employees will gladly change gloves when preparing vegan meals.

    • 50ShadesofLipstick

What do you mean? The veggie bowl minus any diary items (cheese and sour cream) is vegan.

    • Shey

The queso they offer is also vegan.

      • Tish

Nope. It’s vegetarian, but not vegan. It has real cheese in it.

  3. Laina

    Romaine? Is it safe again?

    • Cristalle

Its been safe for a while now.

  4. Amy Forgey

It is one of the only places my gluten free family can eat at too:) The new bowls will make it easier/faster to order now;)

  5. Denise

    Awesome

  6. Wes

Went to Chipotle today & asked about the Keto bowl. They did not have it on the price board. It was $10.58. I just ordered My standard bowl w/o beans or rice which is Keto friendly for about $7.

    • Beth

It’s because there’s meat AND guac. The extra is the guacamole.

  7. Dana

What is the salad called in the very top picture there? The one with the hand in the pic. It looks delicious.

    • gege1804

You would ask for the salad bowl and fill up with whatever else you want.

  8. Mari

So basically they’re going to charge more because they put a name on it. They’re going to charge more because you don’t want additional ingredients such as the rice and beans and call it Keto so they can justify an up charge?! Is that right?!

    • cat

You don’t have to buy it.

      • Mari

Oh but I will… I just won’t call it “Keto”!!

    • Lo

I think it’s mainly the guac upcharge but yes. I laughed a bit and thought the same as you do.

      • Mari

        Lol! Makes sense now 😅

    • 50ShadesofLipstick

No. There are several keto-compatible options at Chipotle that you can choose instead of this new Keto bowl, and you don’t have to pay extra if you order one of those. The Veggie bowl even comes with guacamole included at no extra charge. You can just order that, carnitas or a salad bowl and ask them to hold the rice and/or beans and whatever else doesn’t fit your macros.

This is totally not a new concept at all. Just putting a label on some ingredients that they have to market it. I can’t believe people are going crazy over it when they could have looked up that information in the first place like I did years ago!

        • 50ShadesofLipstick

That’s what I’m saying. I mean, anyone who has been doing keto would be aware of their options are…it’s not exactly like the nutritional info is hidden…

  9. Nita

Yes I mean you can make the bowl anyway you want, so good point. I don’t like Mexican fast food like Taco Bell etc. but Chipotle bowls I do like..it’s slowly becoming a go to.

    • Eve

Taco Bell is NOT a Mexican Food neither Chipotle. I invite you to watch videos and see what is the authentic Mexican Food.

  10. SavingMama

I think it sounds great…but it’d be better if they offered a promotional price! Just like others have mentioned, you can simply order no rice etc in a regular bowl. Sometimes, I just get it to go and add a big scoop of guac that is homemade and/or purchased in a grocery store (either option is more affordable than Chipotle upcharge).
In addition, if you do like or don’t mind Taco Bell…you can use their app and customize their bowls just how you’d like as well. The app usually has some special like 25% off total order or free drink etc. so it’s an affordable way to eat low carb.
If anyone has a diabetic person in their family or friends circle, keto is really helpful. You can incorporate delicious recipes that won’t spike their blood sugar and take them to places like Chipotle for a yummy meal they won’t feel left out on.

Thank you for these tips! Sharing them with my mom 🙂

Please join me in emailing Chipotle and requesting chipotle lime riced cauliflower as an option! It would be so easy for them to do! I started adding my own riced cauliflower to a bowl when the romaine lettuce was recalled. It was awesome, but it would be great if they offered it in store!

    • C

I know last year Chipotle toyed with adding a quinoa option. I have not seen it on the menu, though. They do seem to be trying to keep up with new trends within the confines they have.

Surely you can make your own bowl to meet your dietary needs, but these bowls will appeal to people that are new to a diet or just like simple ordering. If you prefer to build your own bowl you always still have that option.

      • Bonn

        That sounds delicious!

  12. Linda

Romaine safe ??? CDC still investigating and says not to eat unless you know where it came from. Do not eat if from CA counties of San Benito, Santa Barbara or Monterey.
