Please be warned ordering from J Crew Factory. My order came ripped upon arrival. It was a nightmare, they argued with me about refunding so much that I had to contact my bank. This company sees no fault in sending defective merchandise, and will place blame on you. The employee actually told me “I should be grateful at the price I got it”. Not kidding.
Had same experience. They sent me extremely scuffed suede shoes and since it’sfinal sale, I’m stuck with them. My husband ordered 2 pairs of jeans and the denim fabric was ridiculously cheap and flimsy. He immediately returned them. There is a big difference between factory and jcrew itself. Now, I’m very hesitant to buy anything from factory and just deal directly with jcrew.
Wow that’s terrible. I’ve been getting stuff delivered and thankfully no issues with damage. I’m finding however lately that the younger generation, teens, young adults, are definitely having a hard time with customer service these days, in my area anyway. It’s like they just don’t want to do the work and act like they couldn’t be bothered with any of it. I’ve encountered 3 really bad experiences the past few weeks in retail stores, one after the other, like outrageously rude customer service, maybe it’s just coincidence.. but I think a lot of these kids growing up in a technology age just don’t have the patience required for customer service these days..
It’s because of how well the job market is doing. Retail stores and restaurants are struggling to find decent workers. It is not because of pay it is because people do not want those kind of jobs. We can’t go out to eat anymore our orders are always missing something. Once the economy starts to go back onto recession decent workers will start filling in the starter jobs all aspects of customer service will improve. We can’t find a decent worker to do any work on our house. All the good workers are booked for 6mos to a year out.
I bought a few things from j crew and the factory store. All items were fine. One didn’t fit and it was final sale but I am working on tailoring it now so hopefully it works out. Best to know your sizes before ordering.
I have other feedback, I had purchased the wrong size and I did a chat with customer service who was able to do an exchange for me, at no cost to me and it had been a final sale item when I purchased. When I went to try and exchange it, it was no longer marked final sale. I was very impressed that they allowed me to do an even exchange and did not charge me typical return fees. I had a very positive experience and with all I have been ordering with their sales, all items have come intact, no issues to date.
I’ve been ordering quite a few things from this final j crew and Mercantile sale and while a few factory items are not as superior in quality, most of the stuff I got is up to par to J. Crew and a great deal. It’s just certain items I received that don’t match up, but certainly most do. Also, j.crew sells a lot of Mercantile sale items on its own website. Also good to know they were able to do an even exchange.
My local J.Crew Factory store gave me a great tip: have items shipped to store, then they will give you the store deal which is 60% off clearance, but increases to 75% off when you buy 4 or more clearance items. I wonder if that could help with any risk regarding defective final sale merch.
I just started browsing through the Clearance items & noticed it says *60% off with code ‘SHOPTOIT’. I thought we didn’t need a code for this? Just wondering if it’s going to allow the Rewards Member code (since I just signed up)…Anyone have any problems?
Just tried to checkout & got the error “The promotion code you entered is not valid or has expired.” Man, I wasted a lot of time picking out stuff for my cart!
BUMMER! It is expired for me now as well. Thanks for the heads up!
