I am not down with paying $8 for ideas. What if 52 Hip2Savers chimed in with their fun, unique date ideas here? Then we could make our own version of this at home. Just a thought.
That would be an awesome idea! I’m on board! My husband and I have only gone on two dates since my son was born. He’s 6 now. 🤦♀️ I don’t have reliable or consistent childcare, so opportunities are slim. The only way we make time for each other is putting the kids to bed at 7, and then getting some popcorn or snacks and watching a movie.
Where do you live? I am a reliable sitter. Ive done childcare since i was 11. I was a teacher for over 20 years. Im retired now. Im a 56 year old mimi. I live in Brevard county Florida.
It’s not quite the same, but I led a moms group craft once where we wrote 52 things we loved about our significant other on the back of playing cards. Very low cost and my hubby still loves his!
Bonus: the home made version of this would include repurposing the jar from a Bath and Body Works 3-wick candle.
How cute! I’m very curious if these are good ideas. It would be fun if your team got one and opened it on a deals videos.
What a cute idea! Thanks for the request, Amy! I’ll be sure to pass that along to the team!
I wouldn’t know what a date night was like…lol! It has been over a decade since we weren’t accompanied by kids. Moving 4 hours away from family and friends and really having virtually no reliable babysitting options/friends after 10 years in our area means that date nights are lost on me. Maybe in 7 or 8 years when the kids are responsible enough to not burn down the house…
Date nights are so important! Are there friends you could trade play dates with? Maybe that drive could be made every once in a while to have a nice night/day out together.
I so hear ya! My youngest has a “laundry list” of allergies so we NEVER leave her, but we make it a point to put our kids (4) to bed early so we always have time for each other. 😊
Haha, at the rate m husband and I get to go on a date night this would probably last until we die.
Lol that’s what I was thinking…this would be at least a couple of years worth of date nights for us 😆
This is cute, I saw a company called date night in-it’s a box subscription but it’s kind of expensive so I’ve been looking on Pinterest for ideas to make my own maybe this could be a cute alternative and make it a family date jar
I did this in 52 envelopes one year. We didn’t actually do all of them but it was fun for Hubby to open them every week. They don’t have to be big or expensive things. It can include things like going for ice cream which we never do or taking lunch to the park. One thing we really enjoy is winter breakfast picnics in the car. We go pick up breakfast and then drive to a nearby lake and park overlooking the water and eat with the car running and the heat on. We have the place to ourselves since it is cold. We are empty nesters so it seems like we go on dates all the time now. 🙂
There are a lot of date night DIY crafts on Pinterest. Thanks for the post and the people that commented to give me the great vday gift for my hubby!
