Has anyone used this service before? We have always used Turbo Tax and have a feeling we will owe this year, so looking for the cheapest filing service around…
Hi Kristin,
My husband compares H&R Block, Turbo Tax & TaxAct all two gather on three different monitors and gets the best refund. He always goes with TaxAct as he gets the maximum refund out of it. Hope this helps.
I have used TaxAct for the last 10 years or so. I have used any other site but I really like TaxAct for the price and when ever I compare my refund with other sites it’s always better so I keep using it.
Oh good! Glad to hear you have been pleased with is! Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us!
I have used taxact for the past few years however this year they changed it a little bit. I have student loans and this year they are making you pay for the deluxe version in order to accommodate the deduction. Just a heads up. The deluxe version will be $75 to file both federal and state.
Thanks for the helpful comment, Samantha!
Thanks, Samantha. Is this similar to the cost with others (H&R, Turbo, etc.)?
Sorry for the late response. I was able to file for free using FreeTaxUSA. It was the first time I used them and I was actually very impressed. In my opinion, they are better than TaxAct as it seemed easier to use and had more insight so I felt more informed and confident in the information I was inputting.
Also they had a 10 Percent off coupon and they participated in ebates which I found to be an extra bonus.
I know that Tax season is already over, but I hope this helps people for next year 🙂
I have used Taxact to file my taxes but the negative part is difficult to reach their customer care of any issues. I have been trying to get my queries clarified for the last 3 weeks and so far no response.
Oh darn! Hoping they get back to you soon!
I agree this is easy to use, however I’m confused as to why some of you are getting different refunds when you compare software. I’m a tax preparer and there is only one correct amount you should get if done correctly. Found out why and where the difference is and verify why B4 filing.
