Looking to elevate your bathroom experience?!

It appears that the team over at Quilted Northern is developing a new toilet paper called Quilted Northern Luxury!

This new bathroom tissue features 4-ply sheets of cushiony and silky layers on every toilet paper roll and still promises to be sewer-safe and septic-safe.

Side noteThe fact that this toilet paper is 4-ply has us just a bit concerned about clogged pipes. And after Collin’s horrible experience with flushable wipes, she is definitely not adding this new toilet paper to her wish list.

This upgraded toilet paper is not yet available to purchase as it is still currently under development. However, you can head over here and click on the Add to Cart button and you should get a pop-up form asking you to enter your information so you can be contacted with promotional offers and updates about new products.

We filled out this form in the hopes that we’ll receive a coupon or sample offer when this new product actually hits store shelves!

Would you pay a premium for this 4-ply toilet paper?

Should come with a plunger…I foresee lots of clogged toilets with this 4-ply!

    • DS

Wow 4 ply! Yes I would have to agree.

    • K

I thought the same thing! With the way my kids use toilet paper, we get clogs as it is

  2. Snpy496

I wouldn’t pay more. Especially when I’m happy with what I use. I’ll try it if there’s a really, really good deal.

  3. Alex

Costco Kirkland brand is the way the go. Inexpensive and gets the job done. And soft on your tush.

    • Suzanne

      Agree!!

    • Lora

      Yup! Can’t beat it!

    • Wren

      Yep 👍

  4. Pinkrazrbrd3

Definitely gonna try we don’t dispose of our paper in the toilet anyways

    • Ann

What do you do with it?
      😳

      • Amy

I imagine the trashcan. I’m sure she doesn’t paper her house with it lol.

      • Cindy

        😂😂

      • DS

        Probably has a bidet

      • denise

she may own a bidet with a drying feature no towel paper needed

      • Ann

After it’s used that just needs to go down the drain. So if you have people over do you knock on the door and say, hey! Don’t throw t.p in the toilet?
        And.. wouldn’t it smell weird?

Not everyone lives in an urban area with sewer lines. Many people who rely on septic tanks don’t throw it in the toilet and no one needs to be told protocol. Trash out daily is easier and far less smelly than a septic tank backup and for sure less expensive.

          • R

I’ve traveled and lived overseas in countries where bidets are more widespread (usually in places where daily or frequent showering isn’t a thing) – IMHO, I think they’re overrated. They’re messy, cold, and not particularly efficient if you’re doing it right. Unless you’re using water AND soap and your hand (blech), you’re not getting *that* clean (if I dropped peanut butter on the floor, water alone is not removing the residual oils, so, ahem, consider that about your cleaning your bum 😂).

            • R

Oops, this was in response to the bidet comment 😂

            • AZ

Bidets are widespread in Europe & Asia where people obviously shower daily, but daily showers still don’t negate the need to wash yourself throughly after peeing and pooping. They’re not messy at all if used right and warm water bidets exist (or you just get used to cold water, like people all over the world do). The point being made was that water is always going to clean a whole lot better than just using toilet paper to smear your poop and its “residual oils” around your butt. And yes, many ppl do in fact use their hand along w/ the bidet if needed- LOL, have you never used your hand to actually clean your butt when you shower? It’s the same exact thing. It’s not a big deal though because you just wash your hands w/ soap afterwards…obviously.

              • R

Yes, and I replied that’s pretty inefficient. If you must know my butt wiping habits to validate my personal opinion, I use wet wipes. I wipe, I wash. Commenter said “water cleans everything.” Um, no. And no, daily showering is not exceptionally common in a lot of countries, it was not derogatory commentary on their personal hygiene, as you seem to have taken it. Why are you always so aggressive in your responses? Great, you love bidets! My experience hasn’t been as lovely as yours, apparently 😂

                • AZ

Water is the only reason why your wipes are “wet” in the first place…if water didn’t clean everything, then you wouldn’t need wet wipes or to wash afterwards. Directing a stream of running water at a soiled area is “inefficient” for cleaning it…yet using wipe after wipe hoping you didn’t just spread your poop around somehow works better? Sorry, but that’ll never make sense to me…to each their own, I guess. You tried to suggest that bidets are more common where people don’t take frequent showers, and I simply pointed out why that’s inaccurate. Not sure how I’m “always so aggressive” in my responses- am I supposed to know you? Because I have no idea who you are and why you feel so attacked by my comment. Sorry that you had a bad experience w/ bidets, but no need to lash out at others that prefer them. Have a good day.

                  • Chad Derby

When you use wet wipes you’re not smearing anything, but picking up…and works better than a bidet. If you need to use your hand to get the shit out of your ass….two things…lose weight, and…just get in the shower honestly…that’s gross…and dont say it’s the same thing because it’s not.

        • Pinkrazrbrd3

It has a lid and gets taken out everyday we live in the country and that would ruin our septic

      • Pinkrazrbrd3

        The trash can!

  5. Rhoda

At a $1.50 a roll definitely not but if it is more reasonably priced I will.

  6. Marie

I’d pay 1.50 for 1 roll just to say i tried it but on a regular basis? Polite pass 😛

  7. Renee

It’s like flushing your $ down the toilet. 😂

  8. Amy W.

Oh man! When this hits the stores, I will need to keep my husband out of the toilet paper aisle! He is so particular about his toilet paper and only likes Cottonelle (of course the most expensive brand). He would definitely want to try this out. 😂

    • shop4mybabies

i’m with hubby. only cottonelle. we have a family of 6, me and 3 teenage girls use A LOT of TP and it’s the one thing I will not skimp on

  9. Emily

I kind of wanna do a science project and see how quickly this TP breaks down in water compared to its fewer-ply’d counterparts.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

That’s an interesting idea! Thanks for sharing!

  10. Lk

I buy the lowest grade Northern which is just fine. No way am I trying this.

    • Jodi P

With a bidet, wouldn’t you use toilet paper to start with, anyway, to get most of the mess off? I can see using it to finish cleaning up, I think, but I just doubt a spray of water is going to remove it all.

      • BrBa

Have you ever actually used a bidet? It provides a continuous spray of water, not one short burst. Water is the best way to remove it all- if you dropped peanut butter on a rug, you wouldn’t just use a paper towel to wipe it off… you would use water to get it clean b/c nothing cleans as well as water does. We’ve always used bidets in our homes- you don’t need any toilet paper because a continuous spray of water is more than sufficient. People can choose to use 1 square of toilet paper to dry off if they wish to, or a washcloth afterwards. It’s cleaner, greener, and cheaper!

      • Ashley

With a bidet you don’t start with toilet paper. You start with water and then use much less toilet paper to finish the job and also to dry off. I bought a bidet the last time they were listed on this site and I am happily saving so much toilet paper!

  11. jlg

I don’t care if it’s 100 ply or 1 ply, I just want a tp that doesn’t leave behind bits of tp! I thought QN was working well, but the most recent package – maybe not so much. Of course it is noticably better than many cheaper brands that leave A LOT of tp behind. Anyone have a preference for a tp with the “cleanest” wipe?

    • shop4mybabies

for me it’s cottonelle all around. i do not get clingons with it
      it doesn’t clog my pipes
it’s soft for my lady bits

Try Walgreens Nice brand. Inexpensive and just as good as Northern.

    • Dawn1029

I second Cottonelle. I had a horrible allergic reaction due to Charmin Ultra Soft leaving lint behind!!

  12. MrsSandra

I simply can’t wait to try it!!!!
I love to try new things and if I like it I wouldn’t mind paying just a couple of more dollars for a squeaky clean bum…

  13. Laurie Villotta

When we were teens my mom would cut up the newspaper so we could dispose or famine products in the trash. We were not poor at all, but going through tp like water.

  14. Christy

I kept reading thinking this was a late April Fools joke.

  15. Not an idiot

Has no one figured out that this is not a real thing. The Facebook page was created in December 2018. The photos used are badly photoshopped. The website is, I guess what is “cleverly designed” to most of you, to obtain your contact information for marketing purposes. And it worked from what it sounds like

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi there! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment! I actually called in to customer service to double check, and this item is 100% real. This product is not available just yet, however they have put ads out to see how popular it will be. You can always give them a call with any additional questions – 1-800-283-5547

      Hope that helps!

  16. bfd

This is a scam. Quilted Northern Brand does not make 4 play toilet paper.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi there! This is 100% real. I did call in to the company to verify that. They do not have this variety for sale just yet, however they are putting ads out to see how much interest there may be in this product. You could always call them for more details – 1-800-283-5547.

      Hope that helps!

The post clearly states it doesn’t exist yet and is only under consideration by Northern. I would imagine it would be a limited market.

  18. Harlan Moore

I have used northern 4 ply quilted for years but my plumbing is 4 inch pvc and I have never had a clog, but
if you have an older home with cast iron pipes, I probably wouldn’t use it.
