Maybe I’ve forgotten about how tough little ones can be as mine are grown, but don’t most mom’s want to spend mother’s day with their kids? Too bad Kraft didn’t offer to have the babysitting service on the day of their choice!

    • Kasi

I don’t understand why you would want to babysit her on Mother’s Day? Isn’t the point to spend time with your kids?

      • Kasi

Sorry, Tracy. Didn’t meant to reply to you specifically.

    • Jen

Depends maybe. For example, I’m a stay at home mom & spend every moment with my daughter since birth. My only time alone is running to the grocery store on occasion. Hubby & I have only had 1 date night in the last 4 yrs. so I can see in some cases some mothers would want that day to chill. But my daughter loves holidays & gets so excited, so I love doing Mother’s Day with her.

      • shelly

Jen…yes! SAHM with family out of state. I already informed hubby I’m running away on Mothers Day. Momma needs a break.

      • M

        Agree I have 2 boys ages 1&2 I’m with them 24/7. For mother’s day I want a day off.

    • Another Shelly

Is this some weird form of mom shaming?

Some moms spend every single day with their kiddos and are happy for a break. Also, since when does getting a few free hours equate to now spending most of the day with your kids?

      • Tracie

Thank you, this is how I read it too…mom shaming! You don’t need to make a judgment toward people on what they decide to do on mother’s day.

      • Jules

I don’t see where anyone was mama shamed. Maybe some people just feel that way and were asking a question. I can understand how getting a few hours for free would be wonderful as well as spending time with their mama too!

      • Cristine

I’m so sick of the word “shaming” being thrown around because people have different opinions. Nobody criticized anyone, some people simply pointed out that they didn’t understand it or feel a need to be away from their kids for mother’s day.

    • Rene Barrera Jr.

It’s FREE. You’re the type of person who would win the lottery and complain about having to drive somewhere to pick up the check.

    • Cristine

I feel the same way and my kids are still young. It makes me kind of sad to think that some mom’s want to get away from their family for mother’s day.

  2. Amy

I agree! I’d rather have a free catered dinner on mother’s day, so I can spend more time with my precious kiddos. Maybe I can submit that receipt instead 😉

  3. Kira

We always pay our babysitter cash… do you think we can still participate in this? I’d love a morning to myself!

  4. Hannah

I love this. And definitely want a little alone time on Mother’s Day. But I don’t want to ask any of my babysitters and take them away from their family time either!

  5. Angela

What a great offer! I work with children with autism and many of the parents are with their child 24/7. Although some may think it’s strange why a mother would want a day off, this would be a wonderful opportunity for these parents to go and get some alone time. Everyone needs some time to recharge! I will definitely let my parents know about this! Thanks!!!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Glad you can pass it along, Angela! You’re very welcome!

  6. Stacy

So, the site goes live at 12 a.m. on Mother’s Day. Any babysitter I would get would be in the evening and by then the offer will probably be used up. And the teenager that babysits for me doesn’t exactly give receipts. I feel like this is kind of setting them up for people being dishonest.

    • LocksDoor2BAlone

Yes to all of the above.

  7. Laura

Love this offer, though probably won’t get to use it. I’ve been a stay home mom for 10 years and what I honestly want for mother’s day is some me time. Every single moment of every single day is devoted to my 3 kids, and I need some time off!

    • Candis

You go girl. I feel the same. Mothers day is a celebration day for being a mom. I am on duty & on call 24/7. A couple hours to treat myself should be (& will be) my choice on that afternoon.

      • Mamma

Me too! I have 5 kids ranging in age from 8 years to 10 months and we homeschool.. for Mother’s Day I just want a nap!

        • Nel

Lol! I always ask for a nap and a half!!!

  8. SavingMama

I just wish they allowed us to do it the Friday before or anytime in May. I can see the stay at home Mom’s views too. I work and I really want to spend time with my kid on Mother’s Day, since Sunday is our time.

  9. Saydee

Not a mom yet but i loved this post.i guess im with the side that says “yes ! Let a mom have a couple hours to herself” its mothers day. For goodness sakes, its a few hours. I remember spending all day nearly everyday with my mom when i was small. In school for mothers day we literally made “mom coupons”. Some were for my mom to have an hour to read a book with no interruptions 🤣. For the record, none were ever redeemed, 🤣 but give a mom a break. Its great that some choose quiet alone time because that means the other half of the population chooses family time & that is wonderful too. To each his own. And happy mothers day to all moms!!

  10. Kristina K

I wonder if I could pay my husband to take them out for a movie? I’d pay him $50/hr, lol.

  11. Shannon

I’d want free house cleaning more than a babysitter!

    • Jules

      Me too!

  12. hellfiregainz

Check out what you are signing up for. The rules are interesting and a bit invasive. Passing on this one.

  13. Mary

This deal is awesome. Between homeschooling 3 kids and taking care of the house, I’m in desperate need of a ME Time even for a couple of hours… I would be grateful. Thank you. Happy Mother’s Day to all.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

You’re welcome, Mary! Happy Mother’s Day!

  14. Melissa Rice

I know it sounds strange but I have never hired a babysitter and I have absolutely no regrets. I couldn’t trust strangers especially after I came to know that care.com hires illegal immigrants, which means we don’t know anything about their background.

    • Jules

      I was considering using care.com. I won’t be now.

      • J

I’ve actually had great success hiring college kids on care.com lived in three cities and always found a good date night sitter.

    • Rene Barrera Jr.

Illegal immigrants, huh? If your kid is anything like you than it’s peobably best for the sitter to not be around sucj hareful ignorance to protect themselves as well. lol

      • hellfiregainz

It’s ignorant to not trust someone who came illegally? They are a stranger like everyone else you don’t know. Child abduction is still very real, and you also have to consider what diseases they may be carrying. This isn’t about race or hatred.

        • Rene

You’re making a defamatory statement against a company. Show us a link or proof that they hired illegals instead of something one of youe mommy friends told you over mimosas and coffee.

        • Stacy

What diseases they may carry? Come on, now. You have every right to choose who you want or don’t want to care for your child. This is a deal site, not a political forum. To say immigrants are going to spread disease to your child? I think the kid they play with at daycare is more likely to do that.

    • Amy

Care.com doesn’t actually hire anyone. They are simply a platform caregivers and families can use to connect with each other. It’s up to the families to vet any caregivers they invite into their home to care for their children. I have been a professional nanny for 6+ years, was was born in the midwest, and have used the website throughout my years being a nanny.

    • OM Goodness

Hi Melissa. Chances are….illegal immigrants picked the fruits you and your children eat, they cut the meats you cook, they built the house you live in, the roads you drive on, they clean the school your children go to, they cook the food in your favorite restaurants, they pretty much are contributing to all aspects of the comfortable life you and yours get to enjoy. So before you say another stupid and ignorant comment like that, PLEASE , stop and educate yourself first. Enjoy everything you have. Compliments of lots of illegal immigrants who just want a chance at a better life.

  15. Mel

I home school my six kids and would love to hit the day spa or nail salon or even a hot shower for that matter

    • Mamma

      Yes! I second that!

  16. Lisha

Wonderful gesture…Thanks h2s crew for letting us know about this wonderful opportunity. As with most, if this floats your boat go for it. If it doesn’t and you’d prefer to spend time with your kids, pass this offer.
    Happy Pre Mother’s Day!

  17. brandie morgan

weird. I spend mothers day with mine.

  18. brandie morgan

BUT I will say its my daughters bday soooo I don’t have an option.

  19. Melissa

Colin, please moderate or close comments on this one. Neither of these debates is something we need on a deals site.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for the feedback, Melissa! I’ll be sure to keep watch!

  20. Jenna

Its the same thing sorta. But my dad used to go play golf every fathers day with his friends. It was his time, we had breakfast for him in the morning and every single year we would watch a movie that night. No different if a mom wants a few hours of “her” time. To the comment about closing comments?! Why..why..why. it appears we are all talking like adults. There is no name calling. Most are saying what or why their plans are for the day. I can understand when the comments get rude and out of hand but they are boring posts honestly. Ive seen more exciting and laugh out loud comments on posts advertising swing sets for goodness sakes. Not sure why u ate even reading them if they dont apply to you because they are *again* reaaaalllly boring… just move on maybe

  21. jo

It states that it starts at 12 EST and yet at 8:51 a.m. EST the web site states all funds have been claimed. I don’t get it. What did I miss?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

DARN! It looks like this offer reached it’s limit super fast! Thanks so much for letting us know!
