Wow thanks! I didn’t know educators get insurance discounts and we have liberty mutual!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome!

  2. Ms. Bailey

You can get an alumni discount too for Liberty Mutual. Other retailers who give out discounts are Staples, B& N bookstore, The Container Store & possibly Dollar General or Dollar Tree. I saw signs in the window for the dollar stores offering discounts but have never asked about their programs. Lots of restaurants hosts teacher appreciation days throughout the year such as CFA.

    • lisa

What do you get at staples?

      • Lori

They offered teacher appreciation week in July and they honor tax exemptions for educators.

        • Lori

          With a tax exemption letter.

    • Lori

T-mobile offers government/municipal discounts. If you have an email address with an .edu you can receive their discount.

      • boltsmom

AT&T Wireless does too. We’ve found that it’s best to compare if more than one person on an account is eligible – my company’s discount is different than my husband’s (he’s a teacher), and has different benefits.

  5. Amy

What a great list! Thank you

    • Mary (Stellar Sidekick)

      You are so welcome Amy!

  6. Rachel

I’m offering a teacher discount too! I have a polish/gel hybrid product that is brand new! I’m giving $20 off to any teacher who gets the curing lamp and one bottle! It applies like polish but stays like gel! Super easy with no base or top coat! You just soak your nails for 2 minutes and it bubbles off. I’d love to extend this discount to my coupon friends too! Please message me if you would like more information! Rachel.Fickenscher@gmail.com

Verizon gives 18% off for public school teachers & lower discount for private school teachers (don’t know why it’s lower)

    • Nicole___

Verizon told me they don’t do discounts for teachers, only first responders when I switched carriers last month…

      • Christy

Verizon also has a veteran discount

        • Carrie

Verizon would not continue my 20% discount when we changed to an unlimited plan when we added our teens to our plan. The rep. said they only honor military/veteran discount with the unlimited plan.

      • Maggie

It varies — some school districts and universities have arranged for their instructors and staff to get a hefty discount from Verizon. I’m getting one through my university employer — they had to verify employment status, and reverify each year.

  14. Mg05

Cole Haan outlets give you 15% off for teachers and students. It’s worth it since they have a lot of pricey things.

    • Mary (Stellar Sidekick)

Thanks! Just added to the post!

  15. Dani

Could you give more information about the verizon wireless? Has anyone done this that can advise me on the process?

    • LeeAnna

Go into your Verizon store with your Id they applied the discount off of that for me along with my email address

  16. Ms Bailey

Your local teacher association should offer you discounts to most major attractions & provide you with a list of codes to get a discount at the movies, museums, hotels, car rental co., & insurance companies- life, health & dental!!! Plus you can get a huge discount on tuition at major universities (50-60 %)!!!

  17. Jodi Beckham

Forever21 offers a 15 % discount to teachers as well as students. My store said they just started this discount this week!

  18. CJ

I wish AC Moore would keep a record of my teacher ID card on file (with my rewards card) because my school collects the teacher IDs in June and we don’t get hem back until
September….so when we do all of our back to school shopping we don’t have it to get discounts.

    • Lo

Make a copy? Get a letter from your school/district/ principal? A pic of you and your badge? Just suggestions cuz I’d hate to miss a discount.

    • Melissa

You can take a picture of your ID and keep it on your phone. They will honor that!

    • boltsmom

Some places will honor a copy of your paycheck. Teacher salaries are public here so it’s no big deal to show. Or maybe a copy of your teaching certificate. Weird (and annoying!) that they take it away!

  19. LB

Jimmy Johns offers a 5% teacher discount and Columbia stores offer at 15% discount for teachers also!

  20. CW

Kennedy Space Center gives FL teachers a free annual pass. All you need is your State of FL teaching certificate.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

How neat! Thanks for sharing, CW!

  21. fran

At micheals, do you get the 15% off plus coupon or just one ?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Fran! I don’t find a limit listed on that in the details. It may depend on what coupon you are trying to use. You could always call in to your location to be sure on how they might honor that for you. Hope that helps!

  22. Patti N

As a teacher, we have our cars and house insured with Horace Mann. I shop around every year to compare prices and Horace Mann is always half what I’d pay with other insurance carriers. They have very good service!

  23. Terri H

If you live in Michigan MEEMIC is the best insurance company for educators. You don’t have to be a teacher, anything related to the school system such as a bus driver will even count. No other company could come close to their rates and the coverage has been great!

  24. Bethany
