I have been looking at these for a while now, but what is stopping me is that they are not dishwasher safe, and I hate hand washing water bottles. Any alternatives?

Hi, Alice! Great question. I have found that any high-quality double insulated bottles need to be washed by hand. Once I put one in the dishwasher and it ruined it. Hope this helps!

Thanks for answering! May be I am just not a fan of double insulated ones 🙂 I’ve got these ones though: https://www.costco.com/Reduce-Cold1-24oz-Tumbler-with-Straw%2c-2-pack.product.100488938.html. They are not good for just throwing into your backpack because they are not leak-proof. But they are dishwasher-safe and are awesome for using during trips in the car or at home. They have been $13.99 for a set of two at my Costco & the grey and rose gold color combo is very beautiful. I appreciate all the work you are doing for hip2save & thanks for posting deals. I have been just wondering if I am just not seeing something & they are actually dishwasher safe or whether they are alternatives, and it looks like with double insulated bottles there are no alternatives & you have to hand wash.

Have you thought about something like these Contigo bottles? Contigo is a great brand, and these bottles are leak-proof and dishwasher safe.

          • Alice

I have though about Contigo, and I have water bottles similar to Contigo. But they don’t keep water cold/not insulated. I’ve bought a water bottle that is insulated and dishwasher safe a year ago at Walmart for like $10, and loving it, but do not know how to find the same one anywhere else & Walmart stopped selling them.

            • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Darn! I like double insulated because things do stay cold. I understand your dilemma! If we find any that are dishwasher safe, I’ll let you know! 🙂

Thank you! You are so sweet & helpful!

Bought them last week. AMAZING!!!!!! Good water bottles should always be hand washed. That preserves the life of them.

  3. Lyle1117

My husband and I bought some last week. We both like them. I already broke mine so that’s a bummer but it’s my own fault. Water stays nice and cool even when left in a hot car. Hand washing doesn’t bother me, we hand wash all of our good insulated cups.

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

      Thanks for the feedback, Lyle1117!

How exactly do these close? Is it a flip top or does it screw on?

    • todd

When you flip the lid down, it screws on.

    • Karen229

Looks like you can clean them nicely. I don’t like the straw ones because they mold. And I don’t mind washing by hand.

I use these for work and they are amazing. I put ice water in them and drink them through out the day, after work I leave it in my car until the next day and theres still ice cold water the following day. I bought a 2 pack for like $30 a year ago at Costco. This price is a steal.

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for giving us your honest feedback, todd!

Bought these last week and I like them however they have one problem. They are so big that they won’t fit into the cupholders at the gym.

  7. Rebecca

I bought these for my kids and they’ve been great! No, they don’t fit in the water bottle holders on any of their sports bags, but I hook a carabiner on between the bottle and some sort of strap and it’s been fine. I like that they hold more water than our usual bottles and keep it cold. We live in south FL, and between all day outdoor swim meets, baseball and football conditioning, these have been perfect! Also, I like that there is a rubber holder around the bottom, so when my kids come home and drop all their stuff on the ground, it doesn’t make a huge crash 🤣

Thanks for the great information, Rebecca! We appreciate you taking the time to share! 🙂

I am pretty certain that my store has the 2 24 oz. pac on sale for this price but the 40 oz. isn’t on sale.
