They are only for people who signed up without a trial period or started last month. I had signed up and called amazon because I didn’t get the code in the email and the pointed out that part in the terms and conditions.

This worked for me flawlessly. Signed up for the 3 months for $2.99 option and the promo email came right away however there’s no “code” they just send you a link via the email so when you click on that, and add the set of phones you like, then in the cart, the discount automatically applies. Good luck! I am a new subscriber and I turned off the auto-renewal.

Ok I signed up and am a first time subscriber and had to contact customer service where they had me order the headphones and then credit the price back to me. Kind of a hassle but did work out.

Its only valid for the paid subscription. Not the 30 day free trial. So if you paid the $2.99 you should receive the credit for the headphones. Hope that helps

I just did it and got email right away
I was able to get TWO pairs at the same time on the same account! The discount takes up to $30.00 off, so if you choose two pairs of the 14.99 ones (I got two Toy-Story ones), it lets you get two. If you get two 19.99 pairs, it still takes $30 off so your total is $9.98.
