Does anyone know if the Primary Composition Books ever go on sale? I’ve never had to buy one and am doing the schooling for our PTA’s school supply packs- I see they’re mostly $2 everywhere so wasn’t sure if that’s something that goes on sale-thanks for any input
I think I have seen composition books at Kroger in years past for $0.50 and they carried both the college ruled and the wide ruled. I don’t know if they will show up again this year, though.
The primary is actually a different kind ( I wasn’t aware until yesterday) it has a blank space at the top of the page and is for K-2 and they’re a little pricier 😬
I feel ya with the more expensive kind. My kids needed an 8 count of crayons (back in the day, they are teens now). No, they didn’t ask for the super cheap 24 pack and I didn’t want my kids to feel left out 🙄.
A few years ago, I found the primary ones at Dollar Tree… for $1. The page count was less than other stores, so I bought a few more, in case kid would need another, and in June, there were still some blank pages.
Good to know- I’ll for sure keep my
Eye out when I go in there each week
Yep I picked up 2 primary composition books last week at Dollar Tree. I had to ask the school secretary what that was since this is our oldest going into Kindergarten.
I’m wondering the same. my sons school wants the mead primary journals too
I think that I bought this type a few years ago at Office Max. It may have even been for this price. It would be worth checking into it!
I bought mine at Mardel’s with a coupon.
A few years ago I ordered a multipack of the primary composition books on amazon, so maybe check there. Those can sometimes be had to find- every store I went to was out that year, and I start shopping early and kept looking until a couple weeks before school started! I split my pack with another mom that year.
Office Depot usually has them for $1 at some point before school starts
I’m a teacher who uses dry erase markers with my students several times a day. The Office Depot markets are some of the worst out there. They only work a few times before they run out of ink. EXPO are the best IMO.
Thanks Sandy was thinking of picking some up for my kids. But I’m sticking to expo instead. Also does anybody know if Walgreens dry erase markers work?
I’ve tried numerous other brands over the years including these. Bic is the only one imo that comes close and I would still by Expo if able.
Thanks Candance
As w mom, I like the Crayola dry erase markers because they wash out of clothing, the expo ones leave awful stains
Ive tried the Walgreens ones. Ive bought them when cheap so I’d have enough for all 36 individual student white boards for student work but they’re no comparison to expos.
I agree with Sandy! ☝🏼
My sister was a kinder teacher for almost 10 years, and she mentioned with dry-erase, she really didn’t care what brand, because the kids end up forgetting to cap them, and they dry out anyways… (she teaches 2nd grade now, so I’ll see if she still has the same opinion of the “bigger” kids).
I don’t see it listed on the price point sheet. What’s a good price for the Crayola watercolors 8 ct? Thanks!
probably $2 at back to school time; otherwise it’d probably be around $4.
Last year Walgreens had them for $1.
Thanks! I’ll keep my eye out.
Dollar tree has them for $1
Any idea if they still do the penny deals? I never saw any last year, and that use to be my favorite time to stock up on items to donate.
We haven’t seen them so far, but they still might come around! We will let you know if they come around again, Amanda!
I realize with the penny deals, I was spending so much more, to get the required $5 purchase before the penny price would be applied. I bought tiny poop emoji ice packs, that are basically crap because the don’t keep the cool; goodbye $4. I got “free” after rebate reams of paper for $7, to buy more random stuff.
Hopefully you have better luck.
The pencils aren’t coming up .75. Says 1.39 instead.
Hi Tashaa! Thanks so much for the heads up! Sorry for any confusion. It seems some of these will be available in store only. We are updating the post now!
Has anyone seen reams of paper for less than $4 or so? The list said we need 2 this year. So far the cheapest I saw was at Wal-Mart. Thanks!
