Hey there! Thinking about dropping basic cable and buying some of these to stream through the PlayStation View app. Should I take the plunge? Reviews on this device?

Consumer Reports had an excellent article on cord cutting that helped me a lot. I got sick of paying for extra boxes to the cable company and got the Roku + stick and downloaded the Xfinity app. I don’t have the service you want to use but Netflix, Amazon Prime work great. Installation went well. If you will have multiple users at same time make sure that you have robust internet otherwise for one person even a lower level works fine. Also if you are considering anew TV soon you just might want to buy a Smart TV instead but make sure that you can either download apps or the one you want is already on the TV. Yes try it out is my vote.
I totally agree, JD! We dropped cable years ago and did all streaming via Xbox! We recently switched to the Amazon Fire stick which is awesome, too!
Which is better this or the fire stick?
I have used both. I think they both work great and do the same. We recently got the Fire Stick so you can talk to Alexa and that has been fun. I don’t think you could go wrong with a Roku or Fire stick, Denise!
I did not like the fire stick at all as alot of the good content you had to pay for similar to how prime tv works. I have Roku sticks on all 6 TV’s and pay $0 a month to watch TV! Between all the app options on Roku and free trials, I haven’t paid a single penny in almost 3 years! Direct TV and Comcast just have horrible customer service and outrageous monthly charges. It feels so good to not get that DirecTV bill in the mail!
We haven’t had to pay anything to use our Fire Stick. We are able to get all the same apps for free that we had on our Roku. I’m so glad you love the Roku! It really is a great choice, Tati!
I have Rokus on my tv’s at my summer and winter homes. I love Roku and it saves me tons of money. With all of the free apps, my Amazon Prime and Netflix I have plenty to watch.
You can’t use Vudu on a fire stick. For someone like me that has 400+ movies on vudu, that’s a deal breaker
