Did You Win a Marshalls Surprise Box in Today’s Treasure Hunt?

Shopping at Marshalls can feel a bit like a treasure hunt, but that has always been part of the fun, right?
In keeping with their “Never Boring. Always Surprising” slogan, Marshalls has announced an exciting new promotion that will turn your visit to the store into a literal treasure hunt.
Today, August 16th, beginning at 2 PM ET, Marshalls stores across the country are hosting a treasure hunt where customers can search for a “Surprise Box” in each of the 1,109 participating stores nationwide. The box will be filled with specially curated, “amazing” on-trend finds.
“At Marshalls, we believe life is just better with surprises—it’s what makes our stores so exciting to shop,” vice president and marketing director Victoria Shonkoff said in a news release. “Our stores deliver surprise every day through our ever-changing selection of the brands you love, and we’re excited to take surprise to the next level for shoppers across the country with the Marshalls Surprise Box.”
Sound like fun? Head to your local Marshalls on August 16th for the chance to find a surprise box. Search the store for the blue/pink box that has a sign next to it saying “YOU FOUND ME!” If you’re the lucky shopper to find the box, bring it to a store associate at the register to claim your prize.
The hunt begins at 2PM EST and ends no later than 9PM on August 16th. If you’re thinking about participating, you’ll want to read the Official Rules ahead of time. And maybe wear some protective gear.
Behavior that is “violent, dangerous, destructive, threatening, illegal or that is intended to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any consumer or Marshalls employee while participating” will get you disqualified. If more than one customer finds the box at the same time, the winner will be determined by alphabetical order according to their name.
What could go wrong? Sounds like a pretty exciting afternoon of shopping!

Fun idea! But, I feel like this isn’t going to end so well in some stores. And alphabetical? First name? Last name?
During the In-Store Program, in the event that more than one person finds the one (1) Box at a participating store at the same time, the participant with a last name in which the first letter appears in the alphabet first will be declared the potential winner. As an example, a participant with the last name of ‘Adams’ appears before a participant with the last name of ‘Wilson’ in the alphabet. In this scenario, the participant with the last name of ‘Adams’ would be declared the potential winner. In the event multiple participants have a last name in which the first letter is the same, the potential winner will be deemed the participant with a first name in which the first letter appears in the alphabet first. As an example, if both participants have the last name of ‘Adams’ but one participant has a first name of Kelly and the other has a first name of Melissa, Kelly would be declared the potential winner.

I won one today at our local store! My son and I had a blast looking for it! I’m not really sure if anyone else even knew about it…
@christine if you read the rules it says by last name (and if you have the same last name then first name… but they don’t say if you have the same first and last name lol)…. I think it would be more fair to just do a coin flip or split the prize … it’s discriminatory for those at the bottom of the alphabet! Lol maybe it should be whose last name is closest to Marshall’s lol

Fun… but idk if this is all stores as it says “up to 1,019 stores”… and there’s no way I see of finding out if your local store is participating (except to call)… also a bit weird that instead of local time it’s based on EST?

Not every store …. one by our area not doing. Literally the manager acted like it was a prank call!
Ummm apparently the store here is doing it, but when called and I asked the employee who answered the phone if they were doing it she said “I don’t think so.” And I mentioned I thought all stores were, she forwarded me to the manager and the manager was SUPER WEIRD- she said they were doing it and when I asked if it was local time or EST at 2pm, she said, “i can’t give out that information, you have to look at the flyer.” …. WHAT?!??!? I said I wasn’t sure we got a flyer… and she was like, “well you’ll have to check the flyer”….. OKAY I DIDNT KNOW THIS WAS SOME BIG SECRET!
Similar thing happened with mine, I called and asked if they were doing it and then they said “yes”. I said “at 2pm right?” and he asked the manager who said “you will get an email” (???)
SIGH! Sometimes I don’t like these things because no one seems to know what is going on!
So true! I told one of my friends about it this afternoon (who lives in another state) after I found the box here and she said they told her the box was found in the morning! I was like it shouldn’t have started that early! 2pm was the states time (she lives where I believe they have EST)… and one of my other friends said they told her when she called about it that they had to wait to hear from corporate in when to put it out so couldn’t give a time?!?! it seems this promo was kind of a mess!
Your last name only matters if you and someone else find the box at the EXACT SAME TIME. The chances of that happening are very slim IMHO.
I have an A last name, but I also have a lot of those people who hover in-store while the employees stock the shelves who would probably break my face to get to that box. I’ll pass.

The box was approx 12″×15″x6″ and was dark blue with a big white question mark.

My daughter-in-law found the one in the Bloomsburg Pennsylvania store half hour after it started she said when she walked in the door there was a big sign about it if you took the time to read it but we already knew about it from this site. It had fall themed stuff…blanket, dish towels, mug, yankee candle, portable charger, picture frame, and aroma therapy soap.
There was another family looking for it too so my daughter-in-law split the winnings with them

I’ve found the box! The box was brown and contained a planner, a set of 3 pens, a notepad with a pen and Michaels Kors wristlet.

I cannot believe it! I found it almost an hour after they put it out. I decided to go try and sure enough, it was still sitting there. The employee said she had moved it 3 times😂 mug, large stainless water bottle, cell phone holder and platform charger, diffuser and fall candle.

I couldn’t go, so I told all my sisters, and one of my sisters went and found the box a little after 2:00. It has a huge fall themed blanket, a diffuser, a candle, and fall themed coffee with a mug in it. Nice cozy score for her! Thanks H2S for giving us some last minute excitement today!!

I went to my store but had no cube the cube advertising and did not know if it was big or small and did not find anything and did not wanted to asked lol
I went just after 11am PST, and it was quiet, just your regular shoppers. Maybe our store didn’t participate. I didn’t see any sign, and kinda look a round. Didn’t find it. But i found a cute Lucky brand top.
I read the post this morning, but didn’t want to mess with it in case it was crazy- started reading what people got and my 6 year old wanted to go- even though it should’ve started over an hour earlier. We went- and were CST time it was 2:15 and the lady was bringing it out was we were looking so we got it- my daughter was SO excited and proud. We got a set of fall dish towels, fall candle, earrings, eyeshadow pallet, nail polish and small Steve Madden purse

My store did it at 2pm central time. And it was in housewares with some pillows. Just look for a clerk and they were waiting for someone to find it so they could take your picture. I found a box!!!!! I don’t think anyone else was looking for it (but I don’t think it was really advertised here). It has a fancy planner, a shabby chic distressed frame, a clutch wallet, a faux flower arrangement, a big thing of organic hand soap, and scent sachets…. I wasn’t expecting such a “feminine” box, but this box is so me lol. Meant to be. Thanks H2S! I would’ve never known about it without your post!!!! And the manager when I called on the phone was so rude here!

I found it at my store!! There was about $60 worth of merchandise (Marshall’s prices) that included a blanket, candle, makeup purse, succulent plant, car cell phone mount, and a loofah. It was super fun, and I even saw another hip2save follower there, who was really nice and excited for me. No protection gear needed! I think the fact that it was extremely secretive kept it simple. My daughter is five, and she thought it was a great adventure!

We did it! A very fun little idea. We won a box full of relaxation items. Bath salts, waterproof speaker, water bottle, foot soak and face masks with makeup wipes. I took my four year old and we had a good time. Not too many people looking for it in our store. The box is about the size of two shoe boxes put together, so not real hard to find. Thanks Hip2Save for the heads up! As someone who doesn’t really use social media, it is fun to be able to be included on some fun things like this.

I called ahead of time and the box at my store hadn’t been found. I searched for an hour an 45 minutes and didn’t find it. So bummed! Congrats to everyone who found one though! What an awesome surprise!
Just wanted to say thank you for posting this. I went in today with my mother in law and actually found the box. It was so much bigger than expected! I was tickled to death. I wish I could share a picture

Aww this sounded awesome! I missed out. My Marshall’s is at least a 30 min drive. I hope they build one closer but we already have Ross and tj maxx so I doubt they will. Do they ever have all 3 in the same area?

Actually when I told the lady (I think she was a manager) we came specifically to look for it she asked how I even knew about it bc they had just found out today
My Aunt found it in Maryland. She didn’t know anything about it and apparently no one seemed to be looking for it either. The associate said she waited for over an hour for someone to “touch” the box. It was up high and she just reached to see what it was and the associate yelled she won, freaked her out! Haha!

I got the box! Thank you for posting it! Never thought going to get it. I I found it in Marshall & HomeGoods store in Rowland Heights, CA. It’s in the bath/bedding area. When I saw the box, there’s a sign on top of it. The store manager told me that she had been waiting for a while for people to grab it. I guess there’s no one knew about it. Mine has a small Steve Madden bag, a Tommy Hilfiger sunglasses, a fall theme mug, a big jar of pumpkin spice candle, a set of hand cream, and a tin can of chocolate rolled wafers.
