The World’s First 3-Story Candy Store is Coming to New Jersey | Over 10,000 Candy Choices
Get ready for sugar overload!
It’Sugar recently announced plans to open its largest location ever at American Dream, an East Rutherford, NJ mega-mall set to open in October of 2019. With more than 100 locations across the U.S., It’Sugar is the nation’s largest specialty candy retailer.
According to the company, It’Sugar is planning a “completely unique concept” covering three levels and 22,000 square feet of retail space, making this the world’s largest non-manufacturer candy store. A 60-ft. replica of the Statue of Liberty, made entirely from candy, will greet customers at the location’s mall entrance.
More than 10,000 types of candy will be sold at the new It’Sugar, featuring departments dedicated to Sour Patch Kids, Oreo, Nerds, Reese’s, Peeps, Pez, Starburst, and more.
“We’ve all heard the expression ‘like a kid in a candy store’ – but this larger-than-life candy experience will exceed all expectations for those who are young and young at heart,” said Don Ghermezian, CEO, American Dream. “This entirely new concept will be a must-see, must-visit and must-taste for all looking to satisfy their sweet tooth.”
The new It’Sugar will be located inside the entertainment atrium at American Dream, near the DreamWorks Water Park entrance, Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park, and the property’s full-size ice rink.
“This concept has been a dream of mine for over 25 years and our It’Sugar team is thrilled to partner with American Dream to finally make it a reality,” said Jeff Rubin, founder and CEO, It’Sugar. There is nowhere else like American Dream and we look forward to immersing the property’s millions of guests into the world of It’Sugar.”
And let the dentists rejoice! 🤣🤣🤣
I’m a dentist!!!!

I’m a dental hygienist and I would also go!😂
🙂
Might have to take a road trip to nj this fall 😉
What a fun idea, Naomi!
As a kid if it wasn’t chocolate could care less. Most of my Halloween candy ended up having to be thrown away because it was not eaten.🍫
My kids are opposite. They love the candy and throw out the chocolates. Or I eat them😉
Lol “dingle bearies” ..never seen those 😂😂
Hahaha! I just noticed those as well, Ktenny!
Oh yes, in the age of “sugar is the enemy” .. this should work well.. we live right near here, I’ll just pretend we don’t know this place exists, lol. I’d rather get my kids treats from Aldis, or Trader Joe’s..
Not too far from me, I will definitely check it out once it opens. Thanks!
You are welcome! Make sure to let us know what you think, KKN!
*IF it ever actually opens…
I live 10 min away! My hubby designed and painted the artwork for the NICK coaster there!!
What! That is so cool, Dee!
This is why Americans are so unhealthy.
That and it’s so difficult to walk from place to place in your city so you are forced to drive everywhere. Unless you live in nyc or something then you probably do idk.
