Does anyone know if they will fill them?

    • CJ

Like for another dollar, I wouldn’t expect them to do it free.

      • Jill

It’s actually says on the package “inflates with straw. Not for helium use”

  2. Jer

    CJ
    I’m thinking the same thing

  3. obler

The Dollar Trees in my area have been out of helium for months.

    • K

Yes mine too. I heard there’s a helium shortage

Mine have been out too, but have had helium on rare occasions. The balloon selection has been depleted.

They are designed with little hanging loops so they can be hung as a garland. They are inflated by blowing up them up yourself…the old fashioned way. 🙂 They do come with a straw to blow through. They aren’t very big (a few inches tall) – new, fun option though!

    • Mj

*(My store doesn’t have the larger ones shown in the photo – just smaller, single digit numbers)

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks so much for the helpful comment, Mj!

  6. Heidi

I think these are 97 cents at Walmart just fyi

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks, Heidi! We’ll be sure to check for those too!

I was looking at these at the dollar store by my job. I haven’t seen them in other ones. I think it’s perfect for the Toy Story center pieces i’m going to make for my son’s 5th birthday. Hoping to get everything put together by this weekend.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

How fun! Happy Birthday to your son!

I’ve purchased these twice now for two separate purposes. They “inflate” with a straw provided so no helium required. However they arent the best at keeping air or giving that wow factor. Not bad for 1.00 but dont try to do anything spectacular with them!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks so much for the honest feedback! I haven’t spotted them at my store yet.

  9. Donna

I love these balloons and always buy them for birthdays. Press the seal tight after blowing them up and they last a long time!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks a bunch for that tip, Donna! I’ll have to remember that when I snag them!

  10. Tuni

I used them for my sons birthday in July . It’s september and they r still up in his room . For a dollar I would say that’s impressive . Just remember to blow the balloon with the straw provided and tie the bottom very securely with a thread . It will stay inflated

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us! Super happy these hold up so well!

  11. Juliee

We used these recently—air still in them from about 3 weeks ago. They were numbers, and did not stay positioned correctly hanging on my garland. I used long wooden sticks (marshmallow roasters) and secured each, then added to a centerpiece. Really big wow factor! Definitely worth a buck.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

SO cool! Thanks for sharing how you used them!

  12. MrsA

I got these for my kids’ birthdays. They are still filled with air after almost a month! They work great as props if you want them to hold up a balloon with their age. As the temperature of the location they are in gets warmer, they puff up more from the pressure (we left them in the car and they puffed up nicely). Very nice for only $1.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Ooh! Great tip! Thanks for sharing with us!

FYI- The customer service desk at my local Wal-Mart fills up balloons for 50 cents. Our local Dollar Tree has been out of helium, like forever too.
