I dunno. I have a red wagon on my porch and my delivery ppl never put my packages in it 🤣

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

      LOL!

  2. Karen

Yeah. I have an enclosed porch, and still packages are left on the steps.

  3. Gina G.

I ordered one along with a label that tells delivery carriers to leave packages in the box.

Not big enough for this Hip2Saver! LOL!!! Love you guys! Thanks for saving me loads!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

I am very fortunate to have gone to high school with our regular UPS driver. He puts our packages in the garage. He hides them so well sometimes we take a while to locate them. LOL!! We get deliveries almost everyday… thanks to hip2save!!!

    • Lase

      Lol!

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

How nice and fun to look for them!

This is a very attractive solution. But I’m cheap, so I just put out a large plastic storage tote on my porch. I taped a note inside saying it was for packages (visible to mail-carriers, but not passerby). Since the sides are deep, the packages aren’t visible for the street. Of course, it doesn’t work for very large packages, but most sizes fit inside. It’s not as elegant as this box, but it does the job.

Not sure about this item its marked for delivery items and does not lock up ….so it’s just as bad as laying out at least that’s how it feel🤔

But, a thief would have to check every day, whereas, if there is no box they can see the package with far less effort. Think about it this way…. if everyone had one, they’d have to open every one, if no one had one, they would be able to locate every package with an easy stroll down the street.

      • riss

What if the porch pirates take the whole box? 😂🤣

    • Sandy

Agree, why label it deliveries and make it more obvious, defeats the purpose. I mean a thief is walking by and was going to pass your house because there are no packages in sight but then sees a box that reads Deliveries sitting on your porch and now feels the need to check the box for packages. Might as well attach a red flag to the box too😒

We got one of those giant deck boxes when Walmart had them on sale and put a note on top saying it was for packages. And then I made sure to have a conversation with the mail carrier to let him know he could put the packages in there. It works super well when it rains.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      Great idea, Amy!

  9. Kat

I’ve got one. Unfortunately, it’s hit or miss on how often it gets used. USPS is the least likely to use it. But it looks great by my front door and someone from the street can’t see that the box says deliveries unless they come up to the box.

    • Lisa JP

Yeah, I finally donated ours to goodwill. Out of 100 deliveries I’d say 2 were put in the box, and this is after I notified the postmaster. Amazon delivery is the worst, they don’t even come to my porch, they put it on the sidewalk leading to my porch to avoid setting off my ring.

For city folk there’s no room or porch for something like this unfortunately, however it definitely solves the rain/snow issue.. not so much the theft deterrent imo. If this was in the city, it would definitely need a high tech security feature.

  11. Gina G.

They’re $47.29 now at Walmart, glad I ordered mine yesterday.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for letting us know! The post has been updated!

  12. Gina G.

    Still $40.99 on Amazon though…

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      Thank you! 👍

Not only do I worry about Porch Pirates but also UPS pirates…. I have had more items delivered by UPS that have been opened and damaged that I tell places I order from to stop using UPS. I live in the Seattle WA area.
