I love these, never a fan of chemical smelling dryer sheets. I use 2 balls, my clothes are soft enough for me.

My towels and jeans are the softest than they have ever been.

These little gems are excellent! I wish I’d bought them sooner. They literally cut the drying time of my laundry in half. I use them with absolutely every dryer load and finish my laundry in record time.

I like them so much I bought them as gifts for other people!

This is the only method our family has used to soften our clothes for years, long enough that my husband is in the habit as well. We use EO on them and toss in the laundry. Unlike predetermine scents of fabric softeners, one is able to mix EO scents to make the most uplifting and comforting fragrances that release on the clothes. I believe it is safer than fabric softener, especially on my daughter’s flame resistant pajamas.

Which oils are your favorite to use Corina?

      • Corina

I use the NOW brand. We typically stay with calming lavender for towels and bed sheets. Citrus/energetic blends such as lemon grass for clothes. I have also used Plant Therapy from the deals posted on this blog.

How cool! Thanks a bunch for sharing with us, Corina! Glad to hear how well these have been working for your family!

Are you saying you use these in the WASHER, or did I misunderstand your comment? I thought they were supposed to be used in the DRYER.

  2. Laura

Are wool dryer balls any better than the nubby rubber ones?

    • Nicole

I think the rubber ones just move things around so they dry quicker. The wool ones do the same thing but also prevent static.

  3. Laura

Other than the ability to add essential oils, that is.

How do you get them to cut down on static? I used to get sheets to help cut down on static but I couldn’t ever get these kinds of balls to work. What am I doing wrong??

    • Pam

I have to echo your thoughts. I was going to ask the same question. I bought these the last time H2S promoted a good deal. I’d read the balls are supposed to cut down on drying time, but I don’t see that happening. I’ve actually gone back to using dryer sheets to get results.

I agree. I had been using 6 and had no issues with static. But then my kids lost 3 and I so I ordered another batch and added 3 more and now all my clothes have so much static.

        • Pooh

I had nothing but static in my old dryer. When I got a new HE front loader set, they worked fine. Other than the fact I forgot I’m allergic to wool, so back to dryer sheets.

    • Elizabeth

I love these dryer balls! If you are having a problem with static, add a couple safety pins to the balls. Makes my clothes soft and I’ve been using the same balls for years.

      • agh925

Static=over drying. Try reducing the dry time and it should help!

      Brilliant! Trying this. Thanks 🙂

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

What neat tip! Thanks for the suggestion!

I love these but think they work best on smaller or light weight (summer) laundry loads. Winter laundry still requires a half or full dryer sheet for static and large, heavy loads don’t seem to have much difference in drying time.

  7. C Dav

I wonder if the static issue is location/weather based? I’ve used wool balls for years and no static problems except maybe on kids winter zip PJs?

  8. Karen Pond

Also, if you use these instead of dryer sheets you can compost the dryer fluff in the filter thingy 🙂

    • Diane

I have a friend who saves the dryer fluff and uses it for firestarters in her fireplace!

      • Momof5

I do that too— I shove it into toilet paper rolls and use it for for my fire pit starters. Works fantastically!

  9. Hipgrandma

Still like the nubby plastic ones better. These don’t work for me

    • Pooh

      Any recommendations?

  10. Denise

Seems to be a limit of 1 per person. I sent a set as a gift. Then, when I tried to order a set for myself, the code was not valid. I have another account I will use, just be aware.

  11. h1pst3r

Use a few tennis balls instead; they are much cheaper, and just as effective.

  12. Diane

I just ordered 3 sets and I got the discount on all three… $33.03 total (I am charged tax, as well).

    Trader Joes has a 4 or 5 pack (can’t remember) for $5.99

Hi all, I thought I would leave a review here since I happen to use this brand of dryer balls and have for the past 6 months! We decided to eliminate fabric softener due to some skin issues my teen was having and we haven’t looked back! These are so great!! I will 100% be ordering some more with this sale because the only down side about them is they tend to “hitchhike” in peoples laundry and I am always down a few balls until they get returned back to the laundry room. The static has been a total no issue at all. Some synthetics come out a little staticky but they don’t stay that way. I have had zero issues wearing clothes and static cling. I don’t use essential oils on them, I just toss them in and let them do their job. I won’t ever go back to fabric softener. If you have any questions let me know!

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review! We sure appreciate it!
