Now Available at Trader Joe’s: Chocolate Lava Gnocchi

Trader Joe’s has been selling its very popular cauliflower gnocchi for a while now, and this product has earned some die-hard fans over the years. Now, TJs has introduced a sweet new flavor of gnocchi to its frozen lineup, and we’re starting to see it in stores nationwide.

Trader Joe’s Chocolate Lava Gnocchi is described as “sweet chocolate gnocchi with a molten chocolate core.” Like traditional gnocchi, this product does indeed contain potato puree. While the flavors of potato and molten chocolate may seem like an unusual combination, many people who have tasted this unique treat will tell you that it just works.

The Chocolate Lava Gnocchi was first revealed on TJ’s own podcast, Insider Trader Joe’s. In the September 16th episode, Trader Joe’s Vice President of Marketing Product, Matt Sloan, and Marketing Director, Tara Miller, first introduced the gnocchi.

Trader Joe’s Chocolate Lava Gnocchi costs $2.99 per bag and according to the podcast, they’re very easy to prepare. Just sautee them in a pan with butter for 6-7 minutes, as you would prepare the cauliflower gnocchi. The Chocolate Lava Gnocchi has 300 calories in every one-cup serving, and there are about 2.5 servings in a bag.
