I got the Nespresso deal at Kohls last Blackfri that comes with the frother and it was a great deal! I think for this price with Target, it’s pretty good though it doesnt come with the frother though.
So I bought this last week and am going to return it. The coffee or espresso comes out luke warm which I don’t like. The pods for this machine are the larger ones so they are more expensive and harder to find. I had my eye on this machine for a while and was very disappointed.
I have the original line and it’s much better! Stay Away from Vertuo!
Hi. Can you tell me why you think to stay away from this line?
I’ve been doing a lot of research and I think the biggest complaints are the following: that the coffee isn’t hot enough, some people don’t like the foam/crema that is created on the top of the coffee, some people think the coffee is not as good or worth the cost because the capsules are around $1 per vs only .70 cents for the original line (or cheaper if you get a knock off brand), and with the vertuo line you cannot get the capsules from a 3rd party seller like you can with the original line Nespresso machines. The vertuo capsules have a serial code on them that makes it so you cannot use other capsules or even refillable capsules in the machine. That being said, I ended up buying this machine anyway. None of the complaints listed made me steer away. I have the original line and I absolutely love it and many people had similar complaints about that. I never have issues with the coffee not being hot enough and I personally perfer the taste of the nespresso coffee and have not found cheaper capsules that come any where close to the same quality. As far as the cost of the pods go, I typically use 2 pods of the original line to make a strong latte so I’m spending $1.40 per cup of coffee at the moment. So spending $1 per capsule for a full cup of good quality coffee is a bargain for me. Also, there are hacks on youtube that show you how to get around the serial number issue and re-use the pods by grinding your own espresso or coffee and filling an old pod and using foil or press and seal on top. But really, I think the nespresso coffee is so far above and beyond in taste and quality than your typical kcup that it really is worth the extra cost. But that’s just my opinion. So now I’ll be owning a keurig, a nespresso latissima touch, and a nespresso vertuo plus machine 🙂
