One Lucky Fan Will Get Paid $1,000 to Watch Eight Star Wars Movies Back to Back
Are you a Star Wars fan who’s up for a serious movie marathon?
CableTV.com, a webiste that connects consumers with the best TV viewing options available in their area, is looking for one dedicated Star Wars fan to complete a movie marathon challenge. The winner will watch every Star Wars movie back-to-back before the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker on December 20th.
The company is looking for “an entertaining Star Wars junkie with a Chewbacca-sized personality, the wit of Han Solo, and the smarts of Master Yoda.” The successful candidate must also be an active Twitter user who’s willing to share their movie-watching experience online. Active accounts on Twitch, Reddit, or other social media are preferred but not required.
If selected for the job, you’ll need to watch eight Star Wars movies back-to-back. That’s 22 hours and 25 minutes straight! The movies can be viewed in chronological order, release order, or any other order you choose. The required movies include the following titles:
- The Phantom Menace
- Attack of the Clones
- Revenge of the Sith
- Solo
- Rogue One
- A New Hope
- The Empire Strikes Back
- Return of the Jedi
- The Force Awakens
- The Last Jedi
If you’re 18 years or older, a US citizen, and you think you’re equal to the task, you can complete the online application right here. You’ll have 200 words or less to tell why you’re the right person for the job. You’ll also have the opportunity to upload a video (which is not required but strongly encouraged to improve your chances of winning).
In addition to making about $45/hour for a day of movie-watching, the successful candidate will also receive the following swag:
- Star Wars: The Complete Saga Episodes I-VI on Blu-ray
- Solo on Blu-ray
- The Force Awakens on Blu-ray
- Rogue One on Blu-ray
- The Last Jedi on Blu-ray
- Nerf Han Solo Blaster
- Chewbacca onesie
- R2-D2 Popcorn Popper

I entered the “Watch a bunch of Disney movies” one from Reviewsdotorg, and while it said sending in a video and being an influencer wasn’t a requirement…the 5 people they picked were influencers and had sent in video entries. Also, hard pass on the Star Wars movies.
