Hop on over to Target or Amazon where you can score this Relay Screenless Phone/Walkie Talkie & GPS Tracker for just $29.99 shipped (regularly $49.99).

Even better, Target RedCard holders save an additional 5% making the final cost just $28.49 shipped!

Relay Tracker on Backpack

Different from a smartphone or kid tracker, Relay is screenless so there is no texting, cameras, or internet access which means you won’t have any more screen time concerns! Plus, Relay is built for rough play so kids can throw it, step on it and even get it wet!

Relay Device

To use the Relay device, kids simply press one button to talk, kind of like a walkie-talkie, and then parents/caretakers/older siblings can reply using the free Relay app on their smartphone. Kids can reach any combination of pre-approved contacts including one-on-one chats as well as an everyone chat that can be set up when the account is created.

And if you call your child while they are busy, you can leave them a message that they can check at any time just like voicemail! Plus, if you have two Relay devices they can be linked so that your kiddos can chat with each other! This would be great for kids to meet up after school, during sporting events and more!

Relay also offers fun features your kiddos will love, like the ability to upload music to use the device as a speaker, or the Echo feature that plays your voice back in funny voices. Kids can also ask for a joke AND it can translate in 15 languages for you!

Note that Relay is only available in the U.S. at this time (excluding Alaska and Hawaii) and does require a $9.99 per month service charge (independent from your normal cell phone service bill); however, there is no contract required so you can cancel at any time!

I have my phone set up as a Relay and each of my girls have a Relay. We can all communicate together in an everyone chat or you can change the chat channel to only communicate from the parent phone to one Relay or between the two Relays themselves. The relays came with two visual instruction leaflets that made the setting up process quick and easy.

I bought this from Target when it was $29.99 plus my 5% off for red card. I love it! I use it for my 7 year old. She’s now in 1st grade so I don’t have to walk up to the school gate to get her like I did in kinder. NOW when she gets out of school she calls me on this and says “where are you mom”? I call back where I’m parked and she walks to me. It’s great! It’s $9.99 a month so that you get cell service for it. Super easy to set up took a couple minutes. My daughter also spends 50/50 with her dad and I. This is great when she wants to talk to me. She doesn’t have to ask her dad. It’s in her control. She’ll call and say she’s doing homework or going to play and other 7 year old chit chat.

Just bought one for my 11-yr-old. I’ve been looking at all kinds of ideas for her and this checks all the boxes! Thanks so much!! I love the screen-free option and the low price!

Does anyone know If you link 2 of them together do you have to pay $9.99 for each one? If adding more than one that can get pricey especially when it’s being used for kids under 8

    • Heidy

I was wondering the same thing..

    • Kate

Yes – each Relay is $9.99 per month so that it can be used over the 4G LTE cell network.

  2. Adaysleeper

Yes, you have to pay for a subscription for each one individually.

I have had two of these since they came out on the market and haven’t been disappointed. My kids use them when going out to play in the neighborhood and my wife and I use the companion app to talk back to them. There is no way around paying the monthly subscription as that is what connects the device to the network allowing it to talk to other Relay devices or the companion App.

Being able to track where they are at all time and thn being able to call them back home is such a huge benefit for us. Well worth looking into.

So it comes with two devices. If I get the app on my phone, I can use the relay for two boys and we call all talk to each other? What if my husband adds the app? Can he talk too? Basically, can all 4 of us use this with one purchase?

    • Stacy R

No. This is a single device.

    How much your device?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Sorry for any confusion. This is an older, now expired deal.
