Stephanie & wklsunflower, not sure if either of you can “decode” OfficeMax/Office Depot’s restrictions, I recently moved to an area where we have an OfficeMax/Office Depot, had been taking my ink cartridges there for a few months and was expecting a reward certificate. When I didn’t get it, I contacted Customer Service, and I was told that I had to do so much shopping there in order to get the rewards. Amazing all the “restrictions” on their program for rewards. Just crazy.
You have to make a $10 purchase in the same month as the recycling. You get $2 per cartridge. They send you the reward the next month I believe. I have never done it because I rarely make a $10 purchase. But I would save it for next time I bought ink or school supplies or something needed. Keep in mind you have to accrue at least $3 in rewards. If not, you have only a quarter before they expire if under $3.

I use the Free after Rewards item as my $10 purchase each month. For example, you buy the coffee, get back 100% in rewards. You also can recycle 10 cartridges and get back a $20 reward.

Rewards are earned on the price paid for an item after deducting the value of any rewards and/or merchandise certificates/cards applied to that purchase, so if you use a reward to pay for the full price, you will not get any reward in return. If you use it to pay for a partial amount, you’ll get the difference back.
Can I use multiple rewards on one item?

How long does it take to get the Reward Certificates? I bought the Dunkin Donuts coffee on December 22 and nothing is showing in my account.
Good question! Here is what I found on that –
“Rewards for in-store purchases will post to a Member’s account after 2 business days. Rewards for most delivery orders will post after 4 business days.
Reward certificates are available online within 30 days after the end of the calendar month. Members can:
Print a reward certificate to present in store for redemption;
Access rewards on their smartphone and present in store for redemption; or
Ask a cashier to access their rewards through our cash registers at check out in store for redemption.”
