The wells are not very deep and my cupcakes fell out and went everywhere. I do not recommend these.
Thanks for your honest feedback, JenB! We sure appreciate it!
I love these. Use them for many things not just cupcakes and so cheap
The same thing happened to me เฒ ๏นเฒ
Funny I was just thinking…I’m not sure I’d trust this dollar store find to hold cupcakes I made! Cupcakes are hard work!
They are?! LoL
I bought a bunch. They are not great for cupcakes. All of mine tipped out. But, they are awesome little wells to put paint in for kids art projects!
Thanks! I love the idea for painting wells, Rachael!
You definitely have to support the bottom! Don’t carry by the handle! My cupcakes fell out all over the floor! The snaps aren’t very deep and come undone easily.
Didnโt work for me either. The cupcakes were ruined, tipped over, just so messy. I was embarrassed, but at least it was just for a family thing so they knew it wasnโt me, it really was the holders I got. ๐
These are not great. They only hold 9, and the cupcakes fall over if you breathe on them. Any time I would carry these out the the car, holding them by the bottom, at least two cupcakes would have tipped. By the time I drove to work, half of them would have tipped. If you need something cheap that you don’t care about getting back, or if your cupcakes are frosted simply and a little touch up isn’t a problem then these are OK. But if you want something durable, or something that will preserve your more artistic cupcakes, then consider keeping an eye out for the 50-60% coupons at Micheal’s or Joann’s and then purchasing something there. I got a nice two layer cupcake holder that held 24 cupcakes, or a 1/4 sheet cake for $12 after coupons, and when someone forgot to return that, I got these adorable cupcake holders that look, like big egg cartons and hold 12 each, for around $6 each. They are very durable and secure, and i haven’t lost a cupcake with them yet.
The egg carton ones sounds cute! Where did you get them from?
I have a few, like others said not great for transporting but great to keep them on the counter and not have to cover in foil that will stick to frosting.
That’s good to know! Thanks, Raquel! I don’t like when plastic or foil sticks to my frosting.
But who only takes 9 cupcakes, lol?
Like others, I didnโt have a good (or even mediocre) experience with these. Save your money and buy something else!
Iโve had them tip before also. I usually place cupcakes in the blank spaces so it holds more than 9. They do however keep cake and cupcakes moist forever. Sometimes I line it with a piece of foil to transport cookies in them
I’ve picked up similar ones there with the snap lids that weren’t specifically for cupcakes and really liked those. They have bigger sectioned areas and I use them to pack lunch for work. Nice to keep things separated and cheap enough that if I accidentally leave it at work and it disappears I don’t kick myself haha
Thanks for telling us! That’s a great idea, Amy!
I have one and only use it to store at home.
Ditto, ditto, ditto! Dropped cupcakes, fallen over cupcakes…completely embarrassed the first and last time I used them to transport cupcakes to a babyshower. I was super careful, had someone hold them in the car… didn’t matter! Maybe better for cookies or paint like others have suggested.
I like to stagger cupcakes in a cake pan with a lid. I can get 15 in a pan. Keeps them fresh and easy to carry.
I also love mine to store leftover cupcakes in when I make it at home.
We have always used the ol reliable Rubbermaid Tupperware (the ones from the 1980’s – 1990’s with almond colored lids) for baked goods like cupcakes…the huge rectangle ones are the best. But THOSE are banned from leaving my parents’ house now…too many of them never made it back home, & now they’re irreplaceable (well, eBay has a few for around $30 a piece…I considered getting 1 since mom gives me such a hard time about the ones I’ve lost, but figured she’d also give me a hard time for spending $30 to replace it!)
Someone once used this as a way to give me a cheesecake. It worked really well and provided a nice cover to keep cool in the fridge.
I actually love these and own several. For the price, they cant be beat. I use these mainly around the house but use them when transporting as well. I have more expensive holders but they aren’t tall enough and squish the frosting and any decor on the top. I like to pipe my frosting. These lids sit nice and high. If clipped right, I have never had one open on me. Yes, they only hold 9 but they are only $1 each. ๐
I have had one of these for a while. But, never got around to using it. They also have Egglettes for $1. I bought one, the first time I saw them. I haven’t used that, either. But, it seems like a good deal, since the Walgreens across the street is selling them for $10.
And you donโt need to post a comment, just to be nasty, Tabitha
I’ve been using these for quite a while for transporting cupcakes and never had issues as long as the weight was evenly distributed. Occasionally a latch gets warped & doesn’t close well, in which case it’s easy to replace for $1. I prefer to use these when bringing cupcakes to parties, school events or occasions when I don’t want to babysit my expensive carriers, & it’s always worked great for me! I would always carry it as a tray though and never by the flimsy handles, and also have to place and remove cupcakes carefully with these.
Spend the money and buy Tupperware itโs the best and you will never have to buy another. https://www.tupperware.com/?party=5e331f14900ece763b90aa67
Im not sure what everyone was doing that made the cupcakes fall all over the place. You’re supposed to be cautious with your desserts anyway. Anyway mines worked just great and have been using these for years for my cupcakes, my black bottoms and more. Idk.
