Over 5 Million Contigo Kids Water Bottle Lids Are Being Recalled… AGAIN
Check your Contigo water bottles for recalled lids!
Contigo just re-issued its recall of more than 5.7 million Contigo Kids Cleanable Water Bottle Lids because the lid’s clear silicone spout can detach, posing a choking hazard to children. This recall involves Contigo Kids Cleanable Water Bottles and replacement lids that were given to consumers as part of the August 2019 recall of this product.
The base and cover of the clear silicone spout affected by this recall is black. Only black colored spout base and spout cover models are included in this recall. Contigo is printed on the rim and along the front near the bottom of the bottle.
The affected water bottles come in three sizes (13 ounces, 14 ounces, and 20 ounces) and four styles (solid, graphics, stainless steel, and solid-color stainless steel). The water bottles were sold individually as well as in two-packs and three-packs at major retailers including Walmart, Target, and Costco from April 2018 through June 2019.

Just a heads up- I had 3 that were very clearly part of the recall (already separating & fit all of the criteria). I followed recall directions to a tee back in August & STILL haven’t received anything in return. Really a bummer considering they aren’t cheap!
I would call their customer service is fantastic.

I have 3 bottles but no receipt, will I be allowed to apply?
Yes, you can apply. When reading the terms, they will have you send back the affected part to receive the new one. You will not need a receipt.
I read the recall earlier today and was a bit confused. We have two with the black bases but they want you to select from a list but the ones on the list don’t have the black bases. Are you selecting what you want the replacement to be? I was so confused!
Such a hassle the first time I ended up just throwing our bottles out.

I thought they were going to be recalled because the contigo no spill lids are so hard to clean and fill with mold!!! I would never buy Contigo again! I bought a dozen of the no spill “metal” insulated ones. cleaned the lids very carefully and one day my granddaughter said it tasted weird I tried to get it apart couldnt and finally had to break it near the straw and it was all mold….they all were!
I threw all ours away because of mold. I will never buy them again. It was disgusting when I finally broke them apart.

So I called the customer service number, and they said any bottles with black color base and spout is recalled. The list that is on their site is the replacement bottles you can ask for.
