Yes, I worked on Kiawah Island where one of the HGTV dream home of 2013 was given away. I put on the event for the winning family when HGTV presented them the keys. They had 4 kids, acted like a regular middle class family. It seemed pretty legit to me.

No…you are wrong. The recent winner was for HGTV DREAM HOUSE. This is HGTV SMART HOUSE. This is legitimate. They are 2 different HGTV homes.
I live about 5 minutes from this new home. it’s an awesome house in a great neighborhood as well as being located in an amazing school district.
Keep in mind that if you win, you have to pay taxes on the total value of the prizes. The house, car, and cash.
That is what the cash is for- it always says cash to cover taxes
That’s why if I ever win, I’d take the cash prize instead. Most people end up doing that bc the taxes are too much. Remember, you have to pay the property taxes EVERY year, not just once.
