Trader Joe’s Now Sells Kung Pao Chicken Mochi Balls
Trader Joe’s does it again!
When you think about mochi, you’re probably picturing golf ball-sized spheres of ice cream inside a little dumpling made from sticky rice.
Trader Joe’s is no stranger to this popular dessert, and you may have even had the chance to try their yummy Green Tea Mochi and/or Chocolate Peanut Butter Mochi.
Now, TJ’s has expanded its line of mochi to include a savory appetizer with its new Kung Pao Chicken Mochi Balls. This heat-and-serve appetizer features a chewy mochi exterior that becomes crisp when browned in an oven or air fryer. Inside the mochi shell is a sweet, spicy Kung Pao sauce mixed with chicken and vegetables.
Stetson had to try these Mochi balls! Check out his Facebook live video to see what he thinks of them.
We found the new Kung Pao Chicken Mochi Balls in the freezer section of our neighborhood Trader Joe’s, where they were priced at $3.99 per box. Keep your eyes open for these unique appetizers on your next trip to TJ’s!
Omg! Has Stetson tested this yet? Lol
Hi there! I just asked Stetson and he hasn’t tried them yet! Hoping you like them if you decide to try them!
Hello again! Stetson did try these yesterday! You can watch the video here!
I’m kind of on the fence about the ice cream, this chicken version doesn’t sound appealing at all. Definitely make Stetson eat some and record so we can see his face…it might be one of those things that sounds really gross and is delicious but I don’t want to be the test subject! LOL
LOL! Thanks for the request! I’ll be sure to pass this along!

I’ve tried them and liked them. The outside is kind of crunchy.
Thanks so much for the feedback, Jenny! Good to know!
I tried them and they were alright. I thought they could’ve put more chicken/filling. My sister loved them though!
Oh good! Thanks for the review, Jasmine! We sure appreciate it!
