That’s one thing I’ve never understood about Walgreens. How can they charge tax on money you’re not spending🤔 only place I’ve ever noticed that does this

How this is handled is governed by state law. Most states do not give up their income. In other words Walgreens can give you a coupon or discount but the state doesn’t have to.
Walgreens is the only place I’ve experienced this though. Even amazon doesn’t tax the pre coupon price.

Let your state taxing authority know that you don’t think Walgreens is following the law for your state. In my state I would definitely be liable for the tax but perhaps you wouldn’t.

I went in store and a lot of the more expensive products are 40% off which makes for a great deal if your looking to get better quality makeup. I got a bottle of toner in a glass bottle, good size for $3. Also liquid eyeliner for less then $1, foundation stick for $2.

Yes you get an email. One of the perks is that in the email there is a % off coupon usually 20% but once in awhile 25% off full price items valid on the day you pick up your items. Plan ahead which full price you want and pair with a coupon and the discount to really clean up. Also you can track in the app when it arrives at the store if you forget to check your email or it gets lost. Sometimes I pick up at the store just to get the % off.
