Starbucks just added this plant-based sandwich to its U.S. menu and you can snag it for around $4.95-$5.25 depending on your location.

This sandwich contains a whopping 22 grams of protein and is made with imitation sausage from Impossible Foods, a cage-free fried egg, aged cheddar cheese, and is served on a ciabatta bun.

Here’s what Stetson had to say about his Impossible Breakfast Sandwich:

“The impossible biscuit tasted really good. Although I would rather have actual sausage, if you follow a vegetarian lifestyle, I would really recommend this new sandwich as it is quite tasty and didn’t seem overly processed.”

Starbucks has been adding healthier alternatives to its menu lately in an effort to reduce its environmental impact (like soy milk and oat milk), but this is the first time they’ve added a plant-based food item in the U.S.

While this breakfast sandwich is currently a part of the Starbucks summer menu, it could possibly stick around for longer if it’s a hit with customers!

Is it customizable? Too much cheese for me.

    • Amy

their sandwiches come prepackaged to the locations frozen and then de thawed and microwaved. So unless the cheese is easily removable from that packaging, no.

Just ask them to take it off before they heat it

Beware Impossible products contain GMO ingredients. I would avoid at all costs. You would think Stabucks would have higher standards.

Love that impossible options are spreading. I literally can’t eat most meats and this gives me options for protein when I’m out and about. I would love to have real sausage, but since I can’t it’s great that this is a choice now. Fast food options often leave me limited to fries or other sides. Thanks for sharing the good news.

I think it’s humorous to put an unhealthy vegan sausage with an egg (animal product) and call it plant based. So not even close to a whole food plant based diet that you might as well have the real sausage!

Since it is fake, is it 1/2 price so the customer shares the savings?

All that yellow stuff looks like baby poo.
