José Olé, Great Value & Casa Mamita Taquitos and Chimichangas Being Recalled

Sun Valley Foods is issuing a recall of meat and poultry taquitos and chimichangas items that were produced by Ajinomoto Foods North America, Inc. due to possibly containing hard plastic.
These items are sold under the Great Value, Casa Mamita and José Olé brands and contain green chiles that may have been contaminated with hard plastic.
These items have been recalled…
- Great Value Flour Chicken Taquitos Tortillas Stuffed with All White Chicken Meat & Monterey Jack Cheese 16-Count with a best if used by date of “11 JUL 2021” and “P5590” printed on the side panel.
- Casa Mamita Beef Taquitos Rolled in Corn Tortillas 20oz Carton 20-Count with a best by date of “26 JUN 2021” and “EST 5590” printed on the side panel.
- Casa Mamita Chicken and Cheese Taquitos Rolled in Flour Tortillas 22.5oz Carton 15-Count with a best by date of “26 JUN 2021” and “P5590” printed on the side panel.
- José Olé Taquitos Chicken and Cheese Pollo Y Queso in Flour Tortillas 15oz Carton 15-Count with a best by date of “08 JUL 2021” or “18 JUL 2021,” and “P5590” printed on the side panel.
- José Olé Taquitos Beef Carne de Res in Corn Tortillas 20oz Carton 20-Count with a best by date of “08 JUL 2021” and “EST 5590” printed on the side panel.
- José Olé Taquitos Chicken and Cheese Pollo y Queso in Flour Tortillas 22.5oz Carton 15-Count with a best by date of “09 JUL 2021,” “14 JUL 2021” or “17 JUL 2021” and “P5590” printed on the side panel.
- José Olé Value Pack Taquitos Chicken and Cheese Pollo y Queso in Flour Tortillas 55.5oz Carton 37-Count with a best if used by date of “15 JUL 2021” and “P5590” printed on the side panel.
- José Olé Taquitos Beef Carne de Res in Corn Tortillas 60oz Carton 60-Count with a best if used by date of “9 JUL 2021” or “10 JUL 2021,” and “EST 5590” printed on the side panel.
- José Olé Chimichangas Loaded Beef Nacho 5oz with a best by date of “15 JUL 2021” and “EST. 17417” printed on the label.
These products were shipped to retailers nationwide and the USDA advises to check if you have any of these products and to not consume them if you do. You can head here to learn more about the recall.

Darn! The Jose Ole chicken in flour taquitos are my picky eater’s favorite!!! I just bought 3 boxes!!! On the bright side, I just learned that the Walmart brand apparently is the same thing – I can save some money next time 😁
They really don’t taste the same to me or my son. We got the Walmart ones and ate some of them the night before we were notified of the recall. They have a very mushy texture on the inside. We weren’t a fan, but all tastes are different.
I have a box of the Casa Mamita Chicken and Cheese Taquitos I purchased from Aldi last week. Although mine has a different Best by date… does that mean they’re ok?
