thanks for posting, I just came back from doing this deal. (no issues) lol, a rarity with walgreen’s….

Woohoo! You’re welcome, Annie! SO happy the deal went smoothly for you!

Yesterday I had a really frustrating thing happen. I went to use the $6/3 crest coupon that expired yesterday. The computer automatically took off the $3/2. The manager refused to do anything about it stating that it expired 9/5 which meant it was already expired even though the coupon stated right on it that it expired at 11:59pm on 9/5. I had more errands to run and was near a different Walgreens later. I stopped in and same thing happened where it took off the $3/2 coupon. I showed her the $6/3 coupon on my Walgreens account and she left the $3/2 coupon on and adjusted the toothpaste down the other $3. I was happy to still get the deal but disappointed that my $3/2 coupon is now used up even though it was good for a couple weeks still. I would’ve used it this week on this crest deal. Has anyone else had this happen to them or is it just my local stores that have this issue?

I had this happen a lot too where the system takes off the lower value coupon instead of the higher one. I always make sure now that I only clip the coupon that I want to use for that specific deal.

      • Beth

I feel likes kinda crappy that their system takes off the lower one. I read on another post you can remove a coupon if you have the app so I just downloaded the app and sure enough you can, but it says once you remove it you can’t get it back. Unfortunately I had the $3/2 crest coupon clipped before the $6/3 so I guess I would’ve lost it anyway. Thank you for the heads up though I’ll try to be more careful to only clip the exact one I want/need.

I’ve had the same experience and have included the lower value one in the store. Clark deranged the sale and worked perfectly. Not a Walgreens fan.

Until maybe the end of 2019 it used to take of the closest expiring coupon… now it takes off the lowest value coupon which I hate… the only way around this is to remove the lower value coupons (which you can now only do in the app OR on the website when you have 195 or so coupons clipped- I usually clip coupons I’m not going to use that will expire soon as I don’t have the app) and if you remove them they are gone forever

I’m new to Walgreens after not living near one for ten years…..can someone explain how to use balance rewards??? And these differ from register rewards, right?

  4. annie

walgreens balance rewards is a points-based loyalty program. you’ll need to join before you shop Walgreens. …
you usually earn these when something is advertising like buy 2 bottles of olay get $2000 points. and they are added to your loyalty card.
you can redeem like cash. here is their value:
    $1
    = 1000 points
    $2
    = 2000 points
    $3
    = 3000 points
    $4
    = 4000 points
    $5
    = 5000 points
    $10
    = 10,000 points
    $20
    = 20,000 points
    $50
    = 50,000 points
. walgreens register rewards are checkout coupons you’ll receive for purchasing qualifying items. they are printed from a machine near cash register. you also earn on specific purchases that may be advertised in the flyer for that week. think of them as a form of payment.
    hopefully I explained it well

      Thank you!!!!

There is also a $7 off 2 crest and/or Oral B- does that mean you have to buy 2 Crest plus another one? Either way, it would be a moneymaker, wouldn’t it? 3 x $2.99= $8.97- $7= $1.97 with a $3 RR.

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Great eye, 3bettins! I see the coupon, but when you click on eligible items, the $2.99 Crest toothpaste do not work.

only getting 500 points for this

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Amanda! This offer is only available in store. Be sure to grab those that qualify. Hope this helps!

Check Walgreens.com prices vs. the in store prices sometime. I found the prices in the store higher than what they advertise online…and they aren’t the only ones. Walmart does it, too. Stay away from the Wal-stores!
