Anyone have a good idea on how to color these? I have three kids who would LOVE to set up their own little village/town, but I can’t imagine a marker lasting long and paint just seems like a bad idea…especially indoors. Has anyone been successful in adding color to these? Maybe construction paper? Getting scissor skills in LOL…then I will just need to buy a lot of scotch tape or glue sticks.

If these are similar to the ones at Michael’s craft store- the kids go to town using crayons. Older one uses marker in some spots but most importantly it kept them busy forever and it was so much fun for them! The parents loved how busy the kids were and all the play time that house had seen.

Thanks, ladies! I wish they were old enough to use spray paint. I think that would be a blast, but maybe I’m just an adult looking for some craft time 🤣. I think I’ll buy them and see if maybe they can work together to decorate them with what we have around the house.

They make a product that is a paint stick (looks like glue stick) and the color goes on well and fills a large space. They are not very messy. I bought them a couple of years ago at Walmart. I’m sure they sell them elsewhere.

My kids used paint. Just have them wear their painting clothes. Normally, in the summer or when it’s warm out we paint outside on the driveway, but if it’s too cold for that we paint at the kitchen table. Use the roll of plastic tablecloth to cover the table and protect it. The rule is that their hands stay on the table until they are done. I put old towels over the chairs where the little ones sit, just in case. We laid the playhouses on the table and each kid went to town painting. I stay with the kids and help them as needed. Some of my kids will paint all day and some for 5 minutes. As they quit painting I wrap their hands in an old towel and walk them to the bathroom to either wash their hands or take a quick rinse-the-paint-off bath. This has worked well for my family.

You cannot get the playhouse for $8, only the dollhouse or village kits. Misleading, very frustrating.

Sorry for any confusion, Michelle. We have updated the post.
