Wouldn’t it be easier to just have hand sanitizer in your purse. Lol
I had that thought, too, but then I figured: You touch the cart, then start looking at stuff on shelves/shift things around/maybe scratch your nose/look up something on your phone, etc. You’re not sanitizing your hands after each time you touch the cart to push it, so I think these are a great idea to help keep pathogens contained.
I agree. It just looks like something gross I wouldn’t want to take home in my car and put in my washer with everything else.
Which aisle would this be in?
Hi Mika! I found this in my store, near the end of the aisle with light bulbs, small home tools & painting items. Hope that helps!
Oh wow, I would luv to get this I always get static from the carts handles & @ times use paper or some kinda magazine Currently we r deployed overseas, hopefully I can still find it when we move back to states in the fall
I wonder if a pool noodle cut to fit and then sliced down the side would work for you (as nothing is ever at Dollar Tree long and it surely won’t be there when you come back)
but this is nicer and only $1.00. Why diy?
Cool idea…until you touch something else and then touch the cover.
Hence it being antimicrobial…
fyi…antimicrobial inhibits the growth of germs, but doesn’t kill them on surfaces
I’m imagining use with a baby or toddler that sits in the seat… I’m not sure I’d remember to use it all the time for myself.
Has anyone gotten one of these and used it? I am curious to know how it would fit on an Aldi’s cart w/ the coin holder.
Hi, CJ! I bought one and have been using it. It works great at ALDI – the coin holder isn’t a problem.
What a dumb idea. What next plastic disposable liners for the entire cart. Come on, how stupid.
Trust me these are not a dumb idea. I made one using a microfiber towel and velco about 3 years ago before this Covid thing ever started. I use it starting in the fall when flu season hits and use it all winter. I have not had the flu or a cold since. I made several so if I have been out to several stores I take it home and throw it in the wash. I never have to touch a cart handle. I don’t care how much they sanitize them I never feel safe. Also a lot of stores have stopped sanitizing their carts.
I put a lysol wipe in each hand when shopping. Use it as barrier between me and the cart. After I pick up an item, back in my hand it goes. As they start to dry it’s time to wrap up my shopping.
This is what I do! I have done it for years, and now that stores supply the wipes, it is even easier.
