Kidde Recalling TruSense Smoke and Combo Carbon Monoxide Alarms Due To Risk of Failure During a Fire
Time to check your alarm for more than just battery replacement!
If you recently purchased a Kidde Smoke Alarm between May 2019 and September 2020, you may have a model that is being recalled due to a potential failure to alert consumers if there is a fire – Yikes!
On the bright side, no incidents or injuries have been reported as a result of this malfunction.
Affected models include Series 2040, 2050, 2060, and 2070 Smoke and Combination Smoke/Carbon Monoxide alarms that were sold nationwide at a variety of stores and online for between $10-$70.
Recalled alarms bear either the TruSense logo or the words AMBER = FAULT printed on the front of the alarm.
If you are in possession of one of these recalled Kidde Smoke Alarms, you should immediately contact Kidde for a replacement by calling 844-796-9972 from 8AM to 8PM ET M-F and 9AM to 3PM ET on Saturday or contact them online here. Note that photos will be required so you might want to grab those first.
It’s also been advised to keep using the recalled alarm until your replacement arrives.
Thank you so much for sharing this! We wouldn’t have known about it without. Thank you! 🤗🙂
