Thank you for posting! I love Lands End and I am subscribed to their emails and text messages. I also receive their catalogs almost weekly, but their new marketing strategy of “UP to x% off” is driving me crazy. At any one time they have 3-4 different active promo codes that take the said discount of some items but not others, some codes are pretty random. Since shipping is not always free, I would need to shop for one item at the time and see what code works best. Anyone else has a similar experience?
I agree with you totally about the “up to” verbiage. It is infuriating! I also don’t like paying for shipping to get it to me *AND* paying for shipping an item back that I may not like. Land’s End shipping isn’t always quick and reliable either.
Overall, I think it’s becoming more and more difficult to really find good deals as both the sellers and the consumers are facing financial hardships.
Ugh, yes!! And one code may give some items in my cart a larger discount, while another code gives a better discount on other items. Sometimes, on the product page it will say the promo is applied and reflect the reduced price, but in the cart the item is no longer promo eligible. It shouldn’t be so hard to shop. I’m also super bummed that the Kohl’s partnership is not the same as the one they had with Sears, in that you can’t return any Land’s End order to Kohl’s, only Land’s End merch purchased from Kohl’s.
