McCormick Recalls Select Seasonings Due to Possible Salmonella Contamination
Check your cupboards for pantry staples involved in a recall!
McCormick & Company, Inc. has issued a voluntary recall of McCormick Perfect Pinch Italian Seasoning, McCormick Culinary Italian Seasoning, and Frank’s RedHot Buffalo Ranch Seasoning due to possible Salmonella contamination. This issue was discovered by the FDA during routine testing.
No illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall, but Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. People infected with Salmonella can experience fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, the organism can enter the bloodstream and cause more severe illnesses.
The four affected products were shipped to 32 states, Bermuda, and Canada, from June 20 to July 21, 2021. A complete list of the recalled products, their UPC numbers, and their date codes can be seen here.
Retailers have already been advised to remove these products from their shelves. If you have any of these seasonings in your home, you’re urged to dispose of them immediately. My daughter (8yrs old) JUST recovered from Salmonella. It was HORRIFIC!! She got it from fishing & catching a catfish & not washing her hands properly! PLEASE be careful around the water!
