We absolutely love our LG refrigerator. The see-through feature works great when our kids are looking for a beverage or snack. It has quick easy access without losing energy/ cold air. The ice maker is great and has a separate feature to make extra-large ice which we use for a large thermos when we’re on the go. The space and pull-out are great. Large and easy to use, this refrigerator is a must for anyone especially a growing family.

We had all LG appliances installed with our kitchen remodel and love every one of them!! This beautiful cooktop is so easy to clean, the center burner for a fast boil is such a great feature! We could not be happier with our choice! Gas Cooktop

I have had an lg refrigerator for about 4 years and it has been nothing but a problem. There is a class action suit against lg for their refrigerators. I have the French door WiFi enabled and it freezes up constantly. It stops working and then we have to take everything out and wait for it to thaw. I couldn’t wait to get this refrigerator and it has been nothing but a huge headache. Just a heads up, read the reviews before you buy an lg.

Bummer! Thanks so much for taking the time to share about your experience.

I would not recommend LG!! We had our first problem within 2years then the 4th year and just had a Diagnostics check this afternoon as it stopped cooling few days back. This is our 6th year. The repairman gave a quote of 1200 bucks and suggested not to replace as LG compressors are notoriously faulty. I really appreciate if anyone can recommend other bränds that they have been using.

I have had LG refrigerator and washer and dryer set – both about 11 years old now and have NOT had any issues with either and I am still using them.

Oh good! Happy yours have held up well! Thanks for commenting!

I have an LG smart TV and an LG smartphone and they’re both DUMB, problem after problem after problem, good thing I have more than one TV and finally got a new Galaxy cell phone… I guess LG stands for LUMP of GARBAGE!

I’ve got relatives who got an LG fridge and then had it replaced in under a year because it couldn’t be fixed. The second one also had issues within a couple of years and they finally replaced it with something else because it just kept having issues.

I agree LG is THE WORST! The refrigerators are nothing but problems. We used to have one and knew 2 other friends who also had it and we all had horrible issues with them. The first month the water dispenser quit working. It would shoot water without stopping! Then 6 months later the ice maker broke. Then it would freeze up and thaw leaking water all over the floor. That’s what made us just give up and get a new fridge, it damaged our wooden floors. We have a whirlpool French door and dual ice maker and we love it. My only complaint is that it’s very loud but after our LG issues to us that’s not a big deal.

I’ve never had LG products but I have had a Samsung washer, dryer and refrigerator and have had issues with all them plus their customer service is awful

I agree with everyone, LG is the worst. We got it fixed 2 times in first two years, which was under warranty. They have to change the entire door the very first year. Now it’s 5 years and one month and it’s not cooling anymore. We even got the extra warranty that is also a scam, since that will only cover the major parts, that lg will cover for 10 years anyway.
So this time around since it’s one month over 5 years warranty, we got technician who told us that 5 different parts have stopped working including compressor. LG will only cover the cost for compressor while we have to pay $1200 for other parts and labor. We bought it for $2200. We’ll be buying a new one instead of fixing it. It’s not just money and stress but I hate sending things to landfill.

Agree with others, our LG is only 3 yrs old but it has had the ice maker fixed quite a few times. We finally gave up and bought a countertop ice maker. My question is: WHAT BRAND DOES EVERYONE LIKE??? clearly LG is off the list, but what would anyone else recommend? TIA

I did extensive research before getting ours. We also had an LG refrigerator and we were just done and tired of it and all the problems it had. Kitchenaid and whirlpool are the same company and they are one of the bests out there. Whirlpool bought kitchenaid a few years ago and their fridges are the same as kitchenaid but a few hundred dollars less. We purchased Whirlpool 26.8-cu ft 3-Door 36-in French Door Refrigerator with Exterior Ice – Water Dispenser and Dual Ice Makers – Fingerprint Resistant Stainless Steel Item #1030903Model #WRF767SDHZ. I love it but so far my only complain is that it’s loud. It has dual ice maker and that might be why. When it’s dropping the ice and filling up the ice trays you can hear it. It’s very spacious inside and I love the led lights inside. We have had it for a year now with no issues (know on wood!)

This sounds like an awesome deal, and I am in need of a new fridge AND freezer, but I would love to know what brand people have used and loved! I also saw good deals on Samsung @ Costco but again have only heard bad reviews.

    • Jackie

Both Cosco and Sam’s sell Samsung and I heard same complains as the LG with them. Stay away from them! I heard that they are both good if you get a stove but not the refrigerator. The stoves tent to have less issues since there aren’t that many moving parts. If you find a good deal both ranges and microwaves are fine but for dishwashers, refrigerators, washers and dryer’s DO NOT buy Samsung or LG. We have whirlpool for fridge, kitchenaid for dishwasher and GE for washer and dryer. I recommend all of those.

  11. Aimee

We have an LG washer- the worst! It can take 6 hours to do a single load thanks to “smart” technology. If I could afford to replace I would! I would not personally purchase from the company again due to their poor customer service.

Don’t do it! I had the door-in-door instaview. We had it for 3 years and finally died in February. it had been repaired no less than 7 times before they said they would just warranty it out with my Home Depot protection plan, so they cut me a check, less than what I paid for it of course. So I ordered a new GE fridge only to learn that most non-LG and non-Samsung fridges are on back order, and as of now I am #21 on a list in which they only receive 3-4 fridges a month. I expect it to be around Jan or Feb before I get a fridge. I just have a big hole in my kitchen waiting for a fridge. Good thing I have a second fridge, which is just a standard white apartment fridge that is far too small for my family. I will never buy LG or Samsung again.
