Thank you for sharing. Do you happen to know if Jiff is offering a refund for this?

    • Ashley

I was wondering too. I’ve ordered a couple of these and I have one open one. Sucks to have to throw them away. Obviously, going to but it sucks

    • Krystle

Ugh, I have 3 unopened jars of the creamy peanut butter. Bought from Amazon, so I doubt they will be as awesome as Costco (offering refunds). Anybody contact Jif direct yet?

      • Judy

Amazon is a pretty good company to work with. They can see your purchase and may just refund your money. Worth a try to ask them .

  2. Tallycat86

This is the brand we use regularly… just opened a new one. Im going to contact Walmart to see if I can get a refund. Thankfully no one in my family has gotten sick from it.

  3. jessmw

Threw mine out today. My product numbers fell in the sequence given to consumers to check

  4. Janice

Thanks so much for the post on Jiff and all the wonderful post you are always posting. My family loves pb & j and Jiff is the brand we always buy. I have 4 jars. It’s going back to Sams Club. Around here my son can eat a large jar a week work lunch, snacks, puts on apples and does not gain a ounce.
    Thanks again

Yeah I tend to stock up on this type of item, If its recalled I want my $$$ back, or replacement product. “Just throw it away” yeah, no, I paid good money for this product, and if you’re telling me its contaminated, you better make me whole.

    • Linda

I got a phone call from Costco about this because I had purchased it there. They said to discard it, and they would issue a full refund when you come into the store.

      • Michelle R

Same here. I got a call from Costco tonight saying the same thing.

      • EH

WOW- That is pretty darn amazing!! Thanks for sharing. I might have to consider a Costco membership!

  6. Judy

I also have a larger jar of it. I think the company should issue coupons for a replacement for it. Grocery are to much to be replacing this. And probably the stores will take all of there’s off the shelf. Or I at least hope they do….

  7. Alyssa Tess

Amazon issued a refund for me.

    • Penny

      Alyssa,
Was it automatically applied back to your account, or did you have to request the refund?

    • EH

Thanks for sharing that! I just got a jar in yesterday of the Jiff/honey!

    • Marcella

Amazon issued a refund for me as well (I ordered a 3 pack from them in February, after their typical return window and they still refunded my order).

    • willowcat

My order is “outside of the return date” on the site. Does anyone know how to request a refund? Thanks!

    • Cindy

I just called Amazon and they said I had to wait for an email advising of the recall for further instructions. Did you get an email? I’m in Canada

      • Stacy F (Hip2Save Sidekick)

I got the notification from Amazon for my upcoming S&S order. The email was titled- Attention: Important Product Safety Notification Regarding Your Amazon.com Order. In my case, it was just letting me know they canceled my order and shared the FDA link. Hopefully, we’ll hear from other readers on whether Amazon provided any other instructions.

  8. Colette

Balls! I’ve got 2 open jars and 5 unopened… but that means I’ve exposed my 1yr old to something so dangerous!!

  9. njb

I cannot believe that JIF has nothing on their FB page about this! Last post was 2 days ago… I think this warrants someone from corporate working on a Saturday 😕

  10. Beth

So I’ve ordered 5 multi-packs from Amazon in the last few months and had another on order. Amazon contacted me to warn me and also cancelled my upcoming order.

  11. Bugsgrandma

I chatted with Amazon and got a refund on my order.

  12. Pat

They call it a recall, yet tell you to just throw it away, not right.

    • EH

I agree! I have never seen something like Jiff’s postings that does not explain how to get your money back! If they don’t make this good, I’ll be switching PB…….

  13. Susan

I’m having trouble figuring out the 7 digit lot number. My jar has the following:
    Feb 22 2024
    2053 4250321 :08
    69416006
Which one is the lot number?

    • Nathan

It’s the 2053 4250321 – the 425 # is the one that they say is the problem. So yours looks to be on the list. I’m confused though as on Jif’s website they list a lot of UPC codes and our jar has the UPC but not the 425 in the Lot

    • Susan

In the post above it says: lot codes 1274425 – 2140425

  14. Sou

My husband and I both got a call from Costco for this. So I guess they will refund us when we get to the store

  15. Jessie

Does anyone know how to read the lot codes? Mine are all 13 digits–is it the first seven that make up the lot code? Thank you!

    • Larry d

Jessie, you are right. It’s the first 7 numbers and the last of the 7 numbers must be 425.The 425 stands for the Lexington, Ky plant

  16. Corporategreed

Heads up Amazon is not refunding being told to contact Jif, I had unopened product from late November.

    • Crystal

I received a refund from Amazon, no fuss no fight, sorry they were not helpful. I would try again with them.

      • willowcat

        How did you contact them?

        • Crystal

Through customer service on the app, I opted for the chat option.

  17. Amy

Will stores take this back without a receipt? We bought a bunch to stock up, but no longer have the receipt.

  18. Harvey

On the Jif label, only the 1st 7 digits above the product expiration date are the only numbers to consider. If the last 3 numbers of the first 7 read “425”, those numbers relate to the Kentucky facility where the recalled product was manufactured.

  19. VickiL

I’m in Kentucky and bought mine May 10 at BigLots. It appears to be in the recall. I’m just saying even if you aren’t in the above listed states to check your peanut butter. I called BigLots to see if they are refunding, he knew nothing of the recall. I plan to call the pb company tomorrow just to confirm that my numbers are in fact included. I also received an email from Amazon that 3 jars I bought last summer are in the recall. They were eaten last summer 🙄.

  20. Janette Goyette

Does anyone know the symptoms? My grandson has consummed about 1/2 of a large jar in about a month and has had some stomach issues, and should he be seen by his Dr. ?

    • tracey

You can call your doctor and explain the situation and they will tell you if they need him to come in or not. Good luck.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh great! Thanks for the heads up on that link!
