Does anyone know if this would be fun for a 5 year old?
Depends on the child. My little is 5 and when I gave her a toy stethoscope she treated it as such, but when I gave her a real one, she took care of it, brought it to doctor visits, etc..
Same with a microscope..
So I suggest getting a set aimed for middle school and you’ll set her on a more educational path, rather than a toy-pretend-for the moment path. Just my 2 cents..
My daughter is almost 5, we got one of these a few months back at a consignment store and my daughter loves it. A lot of the experiments require at least a bit of adult help though.
