My boyfriend does garage door work for a living & this is one of the preferred models he installs & sells. He despises most brands of garage door openers sold at places like Home Depot…he says they’re horrible quality, break easily, are sold in a million pieces (nicer brands come in just a few different pieces… most of it is already assembled) & don’t offer as good of a warranty (not even close).
II bought this last time it was posted. Super easy to install and simple to use! Great when the in-laws need in the house, but we’re not home to open the door.
This is a must for every homeowner IMO. It gives you peace of mind b/c you’ll always know if you closed the garage door or not (we often forget whether or not we did, right as we’re hitting the highway to go on a road trip!) and it also allows you to let people into your home using your phone when you’re away (like a neighbor that’s going to be looking after your pet or caring for plants etc).
We even use it to let our child into the house if/when I can’t make it home before his school bus- he’ll walk home, ring our Ring doorbell, speak to one of using that, and then we’ll let him in using the Chamberlain app to open and then close our garage door.

So does this just attach to an existing garage door opener. Asking because I just paid 200 for the Chamberlain myq system but I really don’t want to have to install a whole new garage door opening system you know with the chain etc… I may just go ahead and buy worse case I’ll have to return but any advice is much appreciated.
yes it attaches to existing systems. you have to have the main controller which connects to your wifi…then there is a “puck” that you put on your door that monitors the position of the door. you need to buy extra pucks if you have extra doors
I love my Myq and even better, I love that with the assistance of SimpleCommands app I can now use Alexa on my smartwatch to control it without having to dig out my phone.
