Dunkin’ Expecting to Close 800 Locations
More sad news for Dunkin’ fans!
A new report from the Dunkin’ Brand Group has announced they may close 800 Dunkin’ Donuts locations including the previously announced 450 Speedway locations.
These closures will mostly involve low-volume sales locations and account for about 8% of all U.S. locations. The company has also stated that it may close about 350 international locations.
According to Dunkin’, the closures are “part of a real estate portfolio rationalization, being performed in conjunction with its franchisees, with the goal of setting the U.S. system up for continued strong, profitable future growth.”
The company seems to have high hopes for the future and expects to run as well as could be during these unknown times. In fact, as of July 25th, 96% of Dunkin’ locations in the U.S. are open and the majority of the locations that remain closed are in transportation hubs, on college campuses, or in sports venues that are shut down due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
There is no word yet as to which Dunkin’ locations will close this year.
HEY! I recognize him…it’s been a while since we’ve seen him 🙂 🙂
Who will really miss them. I only buy coffee at Wawa when it is .99.
The donuts have gone downhill. That is what happens with cheap ingredients.
I love their Baskin ice cream! Taste the same as when I was a kid.
All of the Dunkin’s in the state of Utah closed last month (there weren’t many of them)
I’m gonna miss their $2 hazelnut iced coffee. Also not a fan of the long lines at Starbucks and Dutch.
Ugh I don’t care. Their donuts are way overpriced and have gone way down hill. I won’t go there anymore. Krispy Kreme donuts are way better and cost a little less.
They are In the process of building two near me in PA
I always wonder if baked goods are throwing in a little sawdust. There is not much to donuts, cakes or pastries. I have eaten pastries that were suppose to have fruit but did not look or taste like. I can remember what real food used to taste like. Many cannot!
