Short on cabinet space in the kitchen?

If crowded cupboards are a pain point in your house, here’s a helpful organizing tip to consider! I recently purchased this Glotoch collapsible kitchen strainer and colander for my home and am super impressed with this high-quality kitchen tool. I love how it folds flat when I’m done using it, which comes in handy for easy storage!

Quick note — I’m always in the kitchen cooking so this product was a no-brainer buy for me. This post is not sponsored, and is truly just me raving about my new favorite kitchen find!

I love this clever space-saving design!

I said goodbye to my other colander and am super happy with this silicone collapsible version. It even has convenient side handles that extend in and out so that you can set it over the kitchen sink which makes food prep easy. It’s also simple to wash and then fold down and store for next time.

You can use this colander to wash fruits and veggies, drain pasta on spaghetti night, or wash canned and dried beans. If red isn’t your thing (though it’s the cheapest color), there are other colors to choose from. Be sure to also check out the fun sets with different sizes to consider.

I’m not the only fan, as there are lots of other happy customers based on the Glotoch colander amazon reviews!

Here are the main reasons I love this Glotoch collapsible kitchen colander:

  • The space-saving design allows it to fully collapse for easy storage!
  • It’s easy to wash by hand and also is dishwasher safe.
  • The BPA-free silicone material is high-quality, food-safe, and super durable. It can handle high temps up to 158 degrees.
  • The non-slip handles expand to fit over my sink for a mess-free comfortable experience when washing veggies or draining pasta!
  • The price simply can’t be beat! For a functional, space-saving colander, the under $12 price for the red version is an absolute steal!

storing the collapsible colander

This colander keeps things tidy in the cupboards!

There are a couple of different ways to easily store your Glotoch colander. You can fold it up and stack it on top of items as I do, or you can store it standing up on its side if you prefer. Either way, it feels much tidier to me than the traditional bowl versions. I adore simple things like this to save space and keep things organized – YAY!

Will 16 oz’s of lasagna noodles fit in this, or 2 pounds of pasta? I have a metal mesh one now that is hard to clean.

    • CJ

      Absolutely! (and more!) it’s huge!

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

I did a full pound of pasta last night and I think 2 pounds would be close but would work. Yes to lasagna noodles -it’s large.

I made a switch to this years ago when we had a tiny kitchen and limited cabinet space. It’s also so much easier to clean than my old metal one. These are great for campers too!

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

I agree! So easy. Yes, great thought on the camper!

  3. Evie

I have a pot with a steamer. I use for a strainer too! Works for me. Clean while it is hot or soak!

I have had one of these for many years. It is awesome! I bought a smaller one for smaller meals. I have not had any cracking or issues at all!

I’ve been using mine all wrong.. my husband seen 2 of them at goodwill one day and we thought they would make the perfect dish drainer for our RV. So we bought one for us and one for a friend. They fit perfectly over the small sinks and with limited counter space it makes it easier to dry dishes

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh well that sounds smart! Great find!

One of the questions on Amazon is regarding the maximum temp it can withstand: It says safe to 158 degrees. Boiling water is 212 degrees….

    • Lolas93

That’s what I was wondering as well. I would use this solely for pasta. Anyone out there have any issues with draining hot pasta into this?

  12. Kjb1976

Thank you for all the wonderful comments! I just purchased one in red.

Just a quick correction. The post above refers to the “BPA silicone material” in one of the bullet points.

Should say “BPA free” silicone material.

Just wanted to let you know so people don’t read it and think the product has BPA in it. Thanks.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      Thanks so much! Just updated!

  15. AuntT

I have this exact one and I love it! Have had it for a couple of years now and still choose it over my metal one every time. No more sink water splash or burning your hands with steam!

  16. Lucy

I also have this and I love it!! We store it along side our cutting boards so it doesn’t take up much space. Highly recommend!
