Save on Vet Bills & Dog Grooming with Petco’s New Vital Care Program
Petco has a plan to take care of your pooch! 🐕
How much do you spend on grooming and healthcare for your pup? Understanding that routine vet visits and regular dental care will keep Fido healthier over a lifetime, Petco is now offering Vital Care, a healthcare package for your dog.
What exactly do you get each year with Petco’s Vital Care?
- Unlimited nail trims for your pet
- Unlimited teeth brushing for your pet
- Unlimited Petco vet visits for your pet OR $35 in Pals Rewards for up to two non-Petco vet visits a year ($70/year in Petco store credit)
- $10 in Pals Rewards every month ($120/year in Petco store credit)
- Welcome Gift of your choice for new enrollments
Petco estimates that most pet owners do one monthly nail trim ($10 each) and two vet visits per year (around $70 each), plus a weekly teeth brushing ($12 each), which totals nearly $900 per year in services.
But with Vital Care, you’ll pay just $19 per month with a required one-year commitment, or a total of $228 over the course of a year. With all the included services and Pals Rewards credits, Petco suggests you will be able to save $586/year using Vital Care compared to paying for individual pet services separately – awesome!
If Petco’s dog care plan is your kind of kibble, you can enroll in Vital Care on Petco.com or on the Petco app. Once you’ve enrolled, you’ll also automatically be enrolled in the Pals Rewards program.
Before enrolling, be sure to check for a participating Petco with grooming and an on-site vet so that you’ll be able to get the biggest bang for your buck.

I might consider this if the store was closer.
Is it $19 per dog each month or for the entire household?
This is per pet. When you enroll 2 or more pets you can receive a discount as well.
I would definitely get this, if I hadn’t already paid thousands in removing her teeth. One thing she wouldn’t let me do was brush her teeth worth a hoot.
I cut her hair/fur, and trim her nails, so wouldn’t get it for that alone.
I use Vital Care and am so happy. We take our dog in every 2 weeks at least for nails and teeth. After the monthly Petco $10 rewards it comes to $9 per month. I also redeemed $35 in rewards for a vet visit too. So worth it!!!
When you take them in for nails and teeth, are you required to drop them off and come back hours later? I have heard that for full grooms, some dogs have been held for hours before being returned to their owners – not sure if that’s the case if you’re only having 2 things done.
No wait, we walk in they take the dog when they are ready. I watch through the window/shop a little. Usually in/out in 10-15 min.
I have been thinking about this service for months. 2 pugs that HATE HATE HATE nail trims. I finally signed up Friday Rakuten offering 20.00 cash back.
Does Petco offer price matching and does anyone know if I have to leave my dog there for nail trim and/or teeth cleaning?
