Paid .54 for tax. Can’t beat that price for eyeshadow! Thanks Hip2Save!! I am so addicted to this website!

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

We love hearing that! Thanks, Jean!

  2. Claire

I tried online and the coupon applied, however, it doesn’t discount $8, but only $5.x. Any thoughts?

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

It should drop the coupon down to the total of the items in your cart. All you will have to pay is tax. Do you see that?

      • Claire

Thank you! That makes sense. However, I found I always get charged 25cents each item for “bag fee” the more I add to cart, the more it charges. Is it just CA? Seems like other people don’t have it? Also, the digital coupon is a pain to be used in store, only one coupon allowed per transaction.

Hi Claire, I’m in central Illinois and there is no bag fee for me. I would guess that is something to do with your state or local laws. Pretty hefty fee if it is per item rather than per bag. for sure! Maybe the store folks could tell you. I am puzzled by the only one digital coupon allowed per transaction in the store. Could you elaborate more?

          • Claire

It is pretty wired, I grabbed 2 Colgate Optical toothpastes and 2 Colgate Total that both on this weekly ad for free, when I check them out, only one $4 coupon was applied. Then I tried them Again in separate transactions, both coupons applied…. Okay, I grabbed 2 Revlon in store plus two fillers, the $8coupon didn’t apply also! That’s why I’ll have to use online order and pickup in store…..

With the Revlon it might be that the price of the two items was less than the $8 coupon. Instore the computers won’t allow the coupon to go through since it is in their coupon policy they don’t pay overage back to the customer. So in the store you have to make sure your items are equal to or over the price of the coupon. Online it works because since Walgreens has to allow for items being out of stock the computers will allow the value of the coupon to slide downward to match that of the Revlon if it is less than the value of the coupon. That’s how they don’t have to pay overage either in the store or online. Sometimes online has an advantage. On the Colgate I’m not sure. I hope it all goes smoothly.

        • Deanna

In central cali and i get charged the bag fee too.

        • suzieq-0

The bag fee should adjust once they fill the order. If they used only one bag it’ll just charge for the one. Target does the same thing in Ca. So check your receipt when you pick it up.

  3. AMumola

    • Liza (Hip Sidekick)

Woot woot! You’re welcome! We’re loving all the great Wags deals lately, too! 🙌

  9. frugal lady2

I forgot to say, Sally Hansen Nail Hardener has a great deal too. Buy 2 for $5.38, use code the SENIOR 20 for 20% off, pay $4.30 and get $5 WC, so they FREE + $0.70 MM.

    • Stacy F (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thanks, frugal lady 2! We’ll give that a look! We love when readers share their deals!

      • Tracey

I tried out the Nail Hardener deal with the Revlon Kiss balms. Originally was going to pay 40 cents tax for the balm but after adding the Sally nail hardeners (with senior20), my total is $5.01 and I’m showing an estimated Walgreens Cash Balance of $5.10! Thanks for the heads up from both of you guys! (I’m in the senior category (sigh), but it’ll probably work for those who are not but not sure about that.

  10. Crs

Paid 38 cents for 2 eyeshadows.😊 Thank you so much!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      Great score! You’re so welcome!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

SO glad to hear that! You’re welcome!

  13. Ann

I just purchased 2 lip balms in store. I had the $8 coupon clipped and it has disappeared and did not apply. What can I do?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

DARN! Maybe try speaking with the store manager or contact customer service. Hoping they may be able to help!

    • Tracy

I did it in store and the coupon didn’t come off for me either. It is still in my account though. I’m going to contact Customer service. The store managers aren’t always helpful.

This deal won’t work instore if you bought the lip balms.
Here’s why from the coupon policy:
Walgreens will not accept coupons that exceed the selling price of an item and no cash back is ever provided in exchange for any coupons.
If purchased for store pickup it will because Walgreens allows for instances where coupons have to be adjusted downwards due to items being out of stock. I suggest returning what you bought in the store and doing an order for store pickup instead.

        • SueJo

Thanks for that explanation. I was going to purchase in store but wasn’t sure it would work. I was wondering why it worked for my store pickup. So many ins and outs of couponing. I guess that’s what makes it fun, right?

    • Bonnie Peterson

My coupon showed clipped but had Revlon Kiss as an excluded item!!!!!!! No wiggle room according to the manager!

    • Jan

I had the same issue and showed the store manager on my phone that the Kiss had the coupon listed and she gave me a $10 store credit!

  14. Jennifer Biggs

Thank you! Got an eyeshadow and Kiss balm for 0.70!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Woohoo! Awesome buy! You’re welcome!

    • Suejo

      Same, what a great deal!!!

  15. Becki

WooHoo!! While it wasn’t free – I paid just over $4 for my “go to” lipstick!! I actually was getting low and kept meaning to look for sales to get my backup stick. Thank you for posting this great deal!

    • Stacy F (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Woot! So glad we could help get you restocked at a great price!

  16. Carol

Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner Pencil + Revlon Kiss Balm = $0.47

  17. Leanne

Got a person who won’t give me the lip balms. Ugh!! Rules are meant to be broken while couponing!! Not happy. I will try another store!!
The coupon clearly states excludes lip balms🤪

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh bummer! Thanks so much for commenting. It seems the coupon details have changed.

It wouldn’t work on two lip balms instore no matter what. The instore computer will not honor a coupon on items priced less than the value of the coupon because Walgreens doesn’t pay the difference back to the customer. This is a big rule to know when you coupon at Walgreens and often comes into play when it is a buy one get one half price. Online the computers will scale down the price of a coupon to match the price of the item. This is so that an order can be adjusted instead of canceling an online order. If a manager does make an adjustment to make the coupon work they are really going the extra mile.

This is a manufacturer’s coupon and the manufacturer sets the rules not Walgreens. If the coupon clearly states that the lip balms are excluded than when Walgreens redeems the coupon from the manufacturer Walgreens is committing fraud. At least in my area Walgreens is very strict on the managers. Asking a manager to do something that is excluded on a coupon and the manager knows is excluded is a firing offense. Don’t be mad at a manager. There is always a better deal around the corner and I hope you get a bundle of great deals to make up for this one.

  18. Linda

My local store charged me $7.99 for each eyeshadow rather than $5.19. Ridiculous! I will return them.
