SONIC Hard Seltzer Now Available in 39 States
After earning an enthusiastic reception in its Oklahoma test market, SONIC Hard Seltzer began its coast-to-coast rollout in January, with the goal of becoming available nationwide by the end of 2022.
Prior to July 18, Sonic Hard Seltzer was available in a total of 31 states including Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, New Mexico, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
Now, Sonic Hard Seltzer is entering a new phase of its nationwide rollout by adding eight states to the list of locations where it can be purchased. These beverages are now available at select retailers in Alaska, California, Maryland, New York, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Wisconsin!
SONIC Hard Seltzer is sold in two variety packs inspired by the fruity flavors of SONIC’s iconic frozen slushes – Tropical (with Ocean Water, Melon Medley, Mango Guava, and Orange Pineapple) and Citrus (with Cherry Limeade, Original Limeade, Classic Lemonade, and Lemon Berry).
We also found them in individual cans priced at $2.98 at our local Walmart!
With just 100 calories and 1 gram of sugar per can, SONIC Hard Seltzer is a guilt-free (and gluten-free!) grown-up refresher with 5% ABV.
SONIC Hard Seltzer is only available at select retailers, so you will not find it on the menu at SONIC Drive-In locations. Head on over here to find a retailer selling SONIC Hard Seltzer near you!

Has anyone tried these? I wonder how they measure up to the competition
They are not amazing – I was disappointed because I really wanted to love them.
They are just OK in my opinion. We like the blue one (maybe it’s ocean) the best (?). If you drink seltzers, try it! Not going to be my go-to, but they are worth a try IMHO.
Thanks for letting us know what you’ve thought of these, Stormy! I’ll have to try the blue one! 💞
We got some in Oklahoma. They were terrible imo. We tried one of each, just overwhelming tin can flavor. No cherry taste to the cherry limeade, so disappointing. We ended up throwing away the rest of them. They were just undrinkable. I was SOOO excited to try them, I assumed they were so bad that they just kept it to OK. As thats where they were being made.
DARN! Sorry to hear you didn’t care for them. Thanks for the honest feedback. 🙌
The water flavor packets are amazing! Can’t wait to try this!!
Don’t love them unfortunately, here in TN. They kinda taste like playdoh.
Bummer! Thanks so much for sharing your honest thoughts with us, Jessica! 💕
I searched high and low for these and my husband finally found them and got me the red citrus pack. I was not impressed – maybe I had my expectations set too high. I did drink them all because I refuse to waste alcohol (unless it’s Whiteclaw surge – I just couldn’t finish them) but I will not buy again unless it’s the only thing available. They weren’t horrible, just not amazing.
Oh darn! We sure appreciate you sharing your experience, Amy! 💗
I’ll second and third and fourth this comment section. We love sonic drinks so we’re excited to taste these. Between my husband and I we are hard pressed to find a hard seltzer at least one of us won’t drink. I like sweet and he doesn’t. We each tried these and unfortunately promptly threw the whole pack away. Save your money, these are not tasty, they are very artificial tasting.
