Walmart’s grocery delivery service is where they shine. With a Walmart Plus account, you’ll receive FREE same-day shipping from your local store (provided the delivery address is close enough). For an additional $6 a month, you can upgrade to an InHome account instead of a Walmart Plus account. You get ALL the benefits of Walmart Plus except when you have InHome, Walmart will carry your groceries into your house and put them in the fridge for you! This service is a LIFESAVER to those recovering from an injury or those with elderly family members.

It’s helpful to those who work long hours, too. With InHome, you don’t need to be at your house to receive your groceries. Your delivery driver will enter your home via your keypad, a Walmart SMART lock (which costs an additional $49.95), or your existing SMART technology, like yourGenie. The entire delivery is on camera and you can even watch it live!

I have them both and enjoy the convenience. I love having groceries delivered – though there can be snags (my 11am-12pm delivery Saturday arrived at 6:48 pm bc they didn’t have any drivers..they rely on Uber Eats and similar drivers and I’m sure with gas prices no one is over anxious to accept many jobs). Returns for groceries used to be easy, (I.e. produce isn’t fresh or you don’t like the substitution etc) and they’d instantly refund your acct and you didn’t have to bring it back. Now it automatically says you have to bring it back and then I have to call and ask them to remove that and credit my acct. They do it each time but it’s very annoying to have the extra steps. I do love the scan and go when I do go in (though it’s not often anymore. But the best is the fee shipping for everything without a minimum. So, I need a box of pop tarts and don’t want to wait for my full grocery delivery and they mail it to me and I get it in a day or two. Running low on ibuprofen, just order it! (Sometimes they come hours after I ordered it bc they are sending out grocery deliveries and I’m only a mile from the store, so I guess they just have the driver drop it off to save postage. With Amazon, they do have a bigger selection but the prices that used to be cheaper all the time aren’t always. Walmart has stepped up their game and become much more competitive with Amazon. They must check all of the time bc routinely I will find they have identical prices on something and it will be like $4.24, not like a standard $4.99, so I don’t think it’s coincidental. I also love their streaming (which is why I can’t get rid of it low that we don’t have cable!) and their photo storage. I never thought I’d pay for these services, but I have become dependent on them and I’m ok with that. I’m a busy mom/grandmom that works FT and volunteers at my church about 10-15 hrs/wk and time is valuable to me. So I have to be a smart shopper that doesn’t waste time driving to brick and mortar stores often (especially with gas prices over $5 now!)

I canceled prime awhile ago and found it actually saves me money bc I’m not buying every good deal I find. I wait until I have $25 worth for free shipping and by then sometimes I realize I don’t actually need/want something. It was just a good deal 😂. Absolutely love the home delivery from Walmart though!! Never have had an issue with getting drivers or anything like that where I live, which is a pretty small city

I’m so glad Hip2Save has posted this! I’ve been considering Wal-Mart Plus for awhile. I’ve been a Prime member for years, but lately, I’ve been considering what life would be like with no Amazon. Lol! It will undoubtedly take me a long time to make such a decision, and posts like this help to inform! Time will tell…quick question, does Walmart Plus offer anything like Subscribe and Save?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

They do not. Thanks for the feedback! Glad this post was helpful. 🥰

  4. Jeanette---

The biggest “thankful” for the Walmart plus was knowing that the prices that I was seeing weren’t “hiked up/down” for marketability…I have only done the trial, but really enjoyed the convenience of everyday prices, delivered to my door.

  5. renee-5

We have both! I’m not ready to choose because they both have things we like.

  6. Zira

Walmart took away the prescription offer and replaced it with the 10 cent gas off because it was just 5 cents at Murphy or Walmart only.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks so much for letting us know, Zira! 🤗
