I love everything about these. As other reviewers have stated, I thought the bottle was very small…lol. These little things are crazy…I’ve just used a little bit so far and I have tons of beads. I keep them in a bowl and play with them daily as an adult (shhh…don’t tell on me) they make me smile. 🙂
Bought as a sensory tool for 2 kids. They loved it. Tips: The bottle didn’t explain in detail the quantity needed to make the beads grow. I had to look it up online and learned that a small quantity ( aprox. 3 tablespoons) is enough to create ALOT of them. Unless you want to have hundreds of these beads bouncing all over the house, do not use the whole bottle at once. And for best results, leave it overnight in a cool dry place, in a big enough bowl or tub to ensure they have enough time and space to expand. We waited 4 hours but they were still not big enough. But by the next morning…wow! They had grown more than 4 times the original size. That alone impressed the kids and they were excited to see what else these beads could do!

Highly recommend these for a sensory table. This post brings back memories. My son would play with these for hours when he was younger.
I realize this can simply be the nature of sensory bins, but do you have any tips for reducing waste with these? I have a sensory kiddo but no OT available in our area so I’m just out here kinda rogue.
A lot of the items I would use in our sensory table, I would reuse. For example, uncooked macaroni, uncooked kidney beans, craft pom poms, rice, etc. It sounds very wasteful, but I guess I would put one material in my son’s table for a week with spoons, cups, tongs, kid tweezers etc, Then put it in a container and rotate in a new material. So he used the same box of noodles several times. Also, since you said you do not have an OT available, thought I would mention, try putting regular beads (not these beads) in play-dough and have your child find the beads in the play-dough. Great for fine motor skills. One more thing, scissors and small scraps of fun paper can go in a sensory table. Kids just love to cut and cut. Watch the hair though:)
They are very dangerous if a child swallows them. They are fun but it is not worth the risk.
100% these are so dangerous. Wish they’d stop promoting these.
Would these work for slow watering plants on hot days?
