How do you submit a device to the Amazon Trade In Program?
You can trade in a device at any time of the year and the process is super simple. To get started, visit Amazon’s Trade-in Program page and select the appropriate category for the device you wish to submit. Popular categories include “Kindle,” “Tablets,” and “Home Security Devices.” Search for your product to see if it’s eligible for trade-in and how much you might receive for sending it in.
Amazon will ask you a few questions about the current state of the product. The company accepts items in various conditions so it is best to answer honestly. Finish the questionnaire, review the adjusted estimate price, and click submit. Amazon will send a FREE shipping label to your email. Simply print and send in your item within 45 days.
Amazon will appraise the item within 10 days of receipt and update your account with a gift card credit for the appraisal amount. Then, you can use the gift card AND the discount to purchase any of Amazon’s thousands of products. It’s that easy!
Happy shopping! 🛍
A few things to know about the Amazon Trade-In Program:
- Even some non-functional items are eligible for trade-ins.
- Don’t forget to unlock or deregister your device prior to submitting.
- If you prefer to deal in person and expedite the process, you can bring up to 5 devices to one of Amazon’s participating locations.
- Trades are final so be sure you really want to get rid of that old device.
- Any item Amazon rejects during the appraisal will be shipped back to you at no cost.
Did you know Prime members also score a FREE Grubhub+ Membership?
These are actually being done instantly, at least for some, I did one today with a Fire HDX 7 and recieved mine immediately, I was able to snag the Fire plus 10.1 2021, without ads, 64g at a very little over a hundred (I know it might be different for others though, so please don’t quote me on that price).
Awesome! Thanks so much for sharing your experience with your trade-in! ๐๐
Does the 25% off work in addition to a sale price, like during prime days? Or is it 25% of the retail?
Mine worked on the sale price, but it may be different for some.
It absolutely does!
For me, it was 20% off with trade-in. The 20% was calculated based on retail price and not sale price so, with the trade-in, I paid $13 for the amazon fire retailing for $90. Really good deal, especially since my old cracked tablet was just collecting dust.
Same here – 20%, not 25%, but off retail, not sale, price, so it was a great deal!
I have 2 tablets with shattered screens. Will they take those?
Mine has a shattered screen but works perfectly. I got $15 instantly. I have to mail it or drop it off. You should try.
Do they want us to send charger or any accessories came with it?
Hey there! Great question. I did speak with customer service on this for you. They let me know that you do not need to send accessories. You can always double check with customer service, on your specific device to be certain. Hoping this is helpful! ๐
I guess the trade-in program doesnt include smart plugs. I switched to wifi bulbs and have a ton of smartplugs gathering dust now.
So sorry Peaches!! Hoping they will include those soon!!๐ฅฐ
